  • Publication number: 20030022553
Abstract: A multiport connector which includes a housing having at least two aligned compartments, each compartment being structured and arranged to receive respective plugs. A multilayer printed wiring board separates the two compartments, the printed wiring board having circuit patterns on opposite sides of opposed non-conductive layers and a metal shielding layer intermediate the non-conductive layers. A first plurality of conductive contact fingers is disposed in one of the compartments, the first plurality of fingers having first portions for making electrical contact with one of the plugs and second portions for making contact with the circuit pattern on one of the non-conductive layers of the multilayer printed wiring board.

  • Publication number: 20020119535
Abstract: Methods for recombining a polynucleotides of interest comprising the step of generating a recombinant polynucleotide by PCR amplification using as a template a pool of oligonucleotides having a chain terminating agent, e.g. ddNTP, at the 3′ end. Such oligonucleotides are preferably short, e.g. to provide for a higher degree of recombination. The PCR amplification is preferably carried out under conditions inducing mutagenesis in the amplified polynucleotide product. Recombined and mutagenized polynucleotides can be used to rapidly evolve cells and/or organisms to enhance or depress a phenotype of interest.

  • Publication number: 20020073280
Abstract: A method for providing a memory scheme in computer architectures in an efficient and cost effective manner. A processor is configured with access to dual-L2 caches, preferably configured to cache program instructions and data in one cache and shared data in another cache. In one embodiment of the present invention, one L2 cache is accessible to networking interface devices. Optionally, the cache accessible by the networking interface devices is configured as networking buffers, providing cache for packet data being sent within a network. By use of this invention, the packet forwarding speeds in a conventional computer architecture may be increased.

  • Patent number: 6251234
Abstract: An electroplating machine is disclosed as including an electrode positioning apparatus, an electrolyte delivery apparatus, an apparatus for covering a roller, an apparatus for dissolving copper oxide powder in an electrolyte passing through the apparatus, and an apparatus allowing the variation of the distance between two rollers. The electrode positioning apparatus has a first open end and a second end joined by two sets of connecting members, in which the connecting members in each set are parallel to one another and equally spaced from the adjacent member. The electrolyte delivery apparatus includes a pipe connected to a source of electrolyte and a nozzle through which the electrolyte is deliverable to an electrode mounted on the electrode positioning apparatus. The covering apparatus is elongate in shape and includes a cavity for accommodating a majority part of the outside surface of a roller.

  • Patent number: 4070052
Abstract: A resilient or shock-absorbing bumper for vehicle, which bumper is characterized by its simple, low cost and compact construction, and by being free of movable mechanical parts, and, consequently, which does not need any maintenance to preserve its operativeness. This resilient vehicle bumper includes an elongated rigid channel member of U-shape transverse cross-section defining an open side and an opposite side securable to a vehicle, an elongated rubber membrane mounted in the channel member, projecting from the open side thereof, and having transverse internal partitions dividing the membrane into a series of closed cells serially arranged along the channel member, and sand filling alternate cells, while the other cells are empty to allow lateral bulging of the sand-filled cells in the empty cells upon impact against the rubber membrane. Reinforcing bars are embedded longitudinally in the front portion of the rubber membrane.
