  • Patent number: 5572968
Abstract: An internal-combustion engine comprises two cylinder banks inclined with respect to a vertical line and has two overhead camshafts respectively which are driven by way of an intermediate shaft by the crankshaft. The connection between the camshafts and the intermediate shaft takes place by way of driving devices which extend in timing cases. In order to maintain consistent oil levels in the cylinder heads which fluctuate during an acceleration or a cornering, a lubricant pump is arranged on each of the cylinder heads which, on the suction side, is connected with the cylinder head and, on the delivery side, is connected with the oil pan. The lubricant pump is continuously driven by the camshaft.
