  • Patent number: 7481375
Abstract: The present invention provides apparatuses and methods for controlling the temperature of a process fluid. An exemplary apparatus in accordance with the present invention comprises a process fluid tank, a cryogenic fluid tank, and a plurality of heat transfer plates for transferring heat from a process fluid in the process fluid tank to a cryogenic fluid in the cryogenic fluid tank. Heating devices can be used to heat a portion of one or more of the heat transfer plates to regulate the transfer of heat from a process fluid in the process fluid tank to a cryogenic fluid in the cryogenic fluid tank.

  • Patent number: 7329076
Abstract: The present invention provides devices and methods for indicating or gauging the position of one or more holes in a workpiece. In one aspect of the present invention reusable devices that can be removably engaged with a bore or tapped hole in a workpiece for accurately indicating the center axis of the bore or tapped hole are provided. An exemplary device in accordance with the present invention includes an expandable shank, indicating surface, and driving head. The driving head can be used to install the device into a hole in a workpiece. The expandable shank can be expanded to positively engage the device with the hole in the workpiece and the indicating surface can be referenced, with a probe, to determine the center axis of the hole in the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 5334080
Abstract: A mechanical apparatus is disclosed, consisting of a platform for attaching tools to crack shellfish claws and shellfish body parts also for opening clams and oysters. The device is comprised of a rotating lever to which hand force is applied, and attached to coupling bars that are attached to a second lever and a blade that is attached and driven into a clam or oyster trapped between the lower plate and the blade. A shellfish claw or shellfish body part is cracked when trapped between a fixed bar and a rotating lever.

  • Patent number: 5087356
Abstract: An automatic dross removal apparatus (10) is disclosed for removing dross from the surface of a solder bath (22) in an automated electric component handling system. A rotatable wiper blade (14) is positioned adjacent the solder bath (22) which skims the dross off of the surface prior to the dipping of a robot conveyed component into the bath. An electronic control circuit (34) causes a motor (32) to rotate the wiper arm (14) one full rotational cycle each time a pulse is received from a robot controller (44) as a component approaches the solder bath (22).

  • Patent number: 4696501
Abstract: An electronic force-detecting robot gripper for gripping objects and attaching to an external robot arm is disclosed. The gripper comprises motor apparatus, gripper jaws, and electrical circuits for driving the gripper motor and sensing the amount of force applied by the jaws. The force applied by the jaws is proportional to a threshold value of the motor current. When the motor current exceeds the threshold value, the electrical circuits supply a feedback signal to the electrical control circuit which, in turn, stops the gripper motor.
