  • Publication number: 20200396797
Abstract: At least some aspects of the present disclosure direct to a device including a conductive heater and a convective device. The conductive heater includes a first conductive bus and a second conductive bus, a first set of electrodes electrically connected to the first conductive bus, a second set of electrodes electrically connected to the second conductive bus, wherein the first and the second set of electrodes are interdigitated, and a plurality of heater stripes comprising printed ink and electrically connected to the first and the second sets of electrodes. The convective device includes a pneumatic structure and an opening into the pneumatic structure connected to an inflation medium source, wherein at least part of the convective device is air permeable. The application is further directed to a warming device comprising a gown and said device, wherein the conductive heater and convective device are disposed on or integrated with the gown.

  • Publication number: 20200113729
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for a patient warming system having a heating device configured to transfer heat to a patient based on a body heat score that indicates whether the patient is likely to sweat. The heating device includes a heater circuit configured to produce heat, the heater circuit thermally coupled to the patient. The heating device also includes a controller communicatively coupled to the heater circuit. The controller has one or more processors configured to receive one or more physiological indicators of the patient, determine the body heat score from one or more physiological indicators, determine whether the body heat score meets a score threshold, direct the heater circuit to produce a first amount of heat based on whether the body heat score meets a score threshold.

  • Patent number: 8180206
Abstract: An infusion unit includes a heating unit with opposed heating plates. A heat exchanger has a fluid flow path receivable between the heating plates to which heat is conducted by contact with the heating plates. Infusate flowing under pressure through the fluid flow path is heated by conduction from the heating plates through the fluid container. When the flow of infusate is stopped or interrupted, infusate trapped in the heat exchanger is displaced to a reservoir in the heat exchanger. Displacement of the trapped infusate reduces friction between the fluid container and the heating plates, which assists in extraction of the heat exchanger from the heating unit.
