Patent number: 11319753Abstract: A stator for a downhole motor configured for use in a downhole environment. includes an inner tubular member formed from a first metallic material having an outer surface and a helically lobed inner surface, and an outer tubular member comprising a second metallic material that is different from the first metallic material. The inner tubular member is connected to the outer tubular member by compressive force passing from the outer tubular member through the inner tubular member to a rigid mandrel removably disposed within the inner tubular member. The inner tubular member and the outer tubular member form the stator of the downhole motor.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2021Date of Patent: May 3, 2022Assignee: BAKER HUGHES, A GE COMPANY, LLCInventors: Witali Huber, Gunnar Michaelis, Carsten Hohl, Erik Bartscherer, Harald Grimmer, Christian Fulda, Dorothea Marion Fischer, Thorsten Regener

Patent number: 9976227Abstract: An ECM method involves the use of a thin hollow electrode assembly that carries the electrolyte within and that is advanced relatively to the workpiece. The small profile of the electrode results in a minimal removal of metal in forming the desired rotor or stator shape. The electrode profile allows significant power consumption reduction or increased machining speed for a given rate of power input. The electrode can be a unitary ring shape or can be made of segments that are placed adjacent each other so that a continuous shape is cut. Not all the lobes of the stator or rotor have to be cut in the same pass. Electrode segments can be used to sequentially provide the desired lobe count in separate passes. The lobe shapes in the electrode can be slanted to get the desired rotor or stator pitch or they can be aligned with the workpiece axis.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2014Date of Patent: May 22, 2018Assignee: Baker Hughes, a GE company, LLCInventors: Christoph Wangenheim, Gunnar Michaelis, Witali Huber, Thomas Uhlenberg, Hans H. Publication number: 20120067967Abstract: A fluid applicator includes, a tubular configured to transport a fluid therethrough, and a rotatable member in operable communication with the tubular such that fluid transported through the tubular is deposited at the rotatable member near a rotational center of the rotatable member. The rotatable member is configured to produce sufficient centrifugal forces on the fluid through rotation thereof to urge the fluid radially outwardly from the rotatable member to coat an inside of an earth formation borehole tool.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2011Publication date: March 22, 2012Applicant: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Sven van Delden, Dirk Froehlich, Witali Huber
