  • Publication number: 20150167299
Abstract: A beam assembly contains a substantially straight beam, which is arranged between two bearings and extends in a longitudinal direction. The beam assembly contains at least three segments, which are arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction and which are connected to each other by two head plate joints. The three segments include a middle segment and two outer segments. The bearings are prevented from moving in the longitudinal direction. The beam assembly permits controlled relief of thermal constraining forces while the load-transferring function is simultaneously maintained and while external dynamic forces are evenly distributed within the construction. Accordingly, this is achieved in that the middle segment has a middle segment head plate at each of the two ends of the middle segment and each of the two outer segments has an outer segment head plate at the end of the outer segment directed toward the middle segment.

  • Publication number: 20130295340
Abstract: A protective system protects a wall of a building or container from impact loads. The protective system has a buffer layer which is arranged on the impact side of the wall of the building or container and absorbs the impact energy of the impact load predominantly by plastic deformation. The buffer layer contains a deformation lattice which is formed by a substantially regular arrangement of unit cells and has a number of lattice layers and the intermediate spaces in which are filled with a deformable damping material. Each of the unit cells is composed of a plurality of lattice struts which form the edges of a pyramid.

  • Publication number: 20130225066
Abstract: A protective cover is provided for a ventilation opening in a plant space of a nuclear-engineering plant. The cover is configured, with a construction that is simple, and with simple manufacture and mounting, for a sufficient air-flow cross section and also for protection against ingress of destructive projectiles into the building interior. The protective cover has profile elements, which are arranged in a mounting plane in a rectangular frame, are aligned in a longitudinal direction such that they are parallel to one another, and are shaped in the same way and orientated in the same way. The relevant profile element has an L-shaped or V-shaped cross section with two limbs that meet in a peak, with the peaks pointing in the transverse direction. A spacing between profile elements that immediately follow each other is chosen such that there is no rectilinear passage between them.

  • Patent number: 7822167
Abstract: A technical installation, especially a nuclear power plant, has a number of system components that are respectively supported by a number of beams, and a number of pressurized conduits. The technical installation is designed in such a way that secondary damage occurring in the surroundings of pressurized conduits are kept particularly low even if the pressurized conduits rupture. This is achieved in that at least one of the beams is embodied in a segmented manner in an area that is expected to be affected if a pressurized conduit ruptures, adjacent segments preferably being connected to each other via screw connections.
