  • Patent number: 9892762
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved seal that allows for a fastener-less/adhesive-less assembly retention method. In particular, the seal may comprise a plurality of integral retention prongs that allows permanent assembly with a plastic housing via friction. The seal is self-retaining, and thus, does not require a fastener or glue. The seal protects the interior of the enclosure from moisture and contaminants when exposed to a mobile environment. In addition, the seal provides sufficient resistance to deliver a proper sealing force and tactile feel to a user when closing the rugged enclosure, while maintaining its shape.

  • Patent number: 9831612
Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a shielded connector having improved shielding effectiveness to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). Some of the various embodiments provide high-speed electrical connectors capable of carrying gigabyte data rate signals. The shielding may employ, among other things, one or more shielding structures to reduce the EMI associated with these and other signals. The shielding structures may be oriented to reduce or limit the apertures within the connector through which EMI can penetrate. For example, some embodiments for a universal serial bus (USB) connector may support both a USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. For these embodiments, a grounding tab or peg may be placed in the rear of the connector between the USB 3.0 and the USB 2.0 connections to divide the aperture for the port into a plurality of sections. The grounding tab or peg may also serve as a structural support for the connector.

  • Patent number: 9573306
Abstract: A method may comprise generating a first electronic model of a workpiece to be manufactured using an injection-molding process. The first electronic model may then be analyzed and the workpiece in the first electronic model may then be selectively distorted according to the analysis. A second electronic model of the distorted workpiece may then be generated. The workpiece may then be injection-molded within a mold generated using the second electronic model. Thereafter, the workpiece may be cooled such that the injection-molded workpiece gradually assumes the shape or substantially the shape of the workpiece in the first electronic model.

  • Patent number: 9443560
Abstract: A server chassis can provide air flow to the top and bottom of multiple storage drives. The server chassis can include an enclosure having a top wall and a bottom wall, and a base plate positioned between the top and bottom walls of the enclosure. The base plate can include a plurality of storage drive receiving areas, a plurality of recesses, and a plurality of openings. Each recess can be positioned at a corresponding one of the storage drive receiving areas and be configured to be under a storage drive received at the storage drive receiving area. Each opening can be used to direct air flow from below the base plate into the recesses and thereby onto a bottom of the storage drives.
