    Abstract: A motor vehicle air-conditioning system includes a compressor driven by the motor vehicle engine through a clutch and means for disengaging the clutch, thereby decoupling the compressor from the engine, when the vehicle is accelerating. According to the invention, means are provided for automatically reengaging the clutch after an adjustable period of delay from the time that the clutch is disengaged.
