  • Patent number: 10104786
Abstract: A housing (10) which has a first part (14) with a first wall (22) having an outer wall surface (28) and a second part (18) with a second wall (24) having an inner wall surface (30). The wall surfaces can have for example a cylindrical casing shape at least in some sections. Portions of the first wall (22) and the second wall (24) overlap in an overlap region (26). The first wall (22) and the second wall (24) are connected along the circumference of the wall surfaces (28, 30) by means of a rotational friction welding seam (32) arranged in the overlap region (26). The rotational friction welding seam (32) has a compact zone (48) with a first elastic modulus and a mixing zone (44) with a different second elastic modulus.

  • Patent number: 9735561
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly (14) of a cable-connecting device (10) and a multi-core cable (11), which form a mechanical, explosion-proof connection to each other. For this purpose, the cable-connecting device (10) has a plastically deformable outer sleeve (18) having a crimping section (23). A hollow cylindrical inner sleeve (19) made of elastically deformable material is arranged between a cable sheath (13) made of elastomer and the crimping section (23). An elastic deformation of the inner sleeve (19) and of the cable sheath (13) is caused by radially plastically deforming the crimping section (23). Any gaps (40) present within the cable sheath (13) are closed due to the radial forces in the crimping section (23) such that spark-gap-free contact between the cable sheath (13) and the cores (12) of the cable (11) and between the cable sheath (13) and the inner sleeve (19) is ensured.

  • Patent number: 9451728
Abstract: An explosion protection housing constructed according to an explosion protection requirement having a temperature control system. The temperature control system includes a temperature control device that includes a pipe coil thermally connected to at least one of the walls of the housing. Optionally, temperature control fluid is directed through the pipe coil by means of circulating pump in order to increase or decrease the temperature of the housing, depending upon the explosion protection requirements.

  • Publication number: 20130206759
Abstract: A protective housing designed as a pressure proof capsule has a pressure relief valve which comprises a porous body 23 and a pore closure 31 about its perimeter for preventing the transition of a flame about an edge of the porous body. Alternative embodiments of pore closures 31 are disclosed, including a soft metal ring about an edge of the porous body that is depressed, such as by a pressure ring, into a gapless imbedding relation to the porous body. An edge region of the porous body can be modified by jacketing materials such as synthetic materials, metals and the like for creating a form fitting bond with the body of the protective housing.
