Patent number: 8055114Abstract: A cable sleeve for the structured storage and handling of optical waveguides guided in optical waveguide cables is disclosed. The cable sleeve comprises a covering body, which defines an interior. The cable sleeve also comprises a sealing body comprising two dimensionally stable end pieces and a compressible gel element arranged between the end pieces. The sealing body is adapted to be inserted into an opening of the covering body and is operable for feeding optical waveguide cables into the interior and/or for feeding optical waveguide cables out of the interior. The sealing body bears against a stop with an inner one of the two dimensionally stable end pieces. A locking body can be screwed to an outer one of the two dimensionally stable end pieces of the sealing body while compressing the gel element. At least one compensation element is operable for storing the force applied via the locking body and exerting a compression force onto the gel element.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2008Date of Patent: November 8, 2011Assignee: CCS Technology, Inc.Inventors: Wolf Kluwe, Roman Arnold Theodor Syplacz, Thorsten Müller

Patent number: 7580608Abstract: The present invention discloses a pushing-in device and a method for driving through a cable entry port of an elastomeric sealing element of a fiber optic closure. The pushing-in device comprises a first end having an opening adapted to receive a cable, and a second end having a tip. The tip is capable of penetrating and passing through the cable entry port of the sealing element. The first end is capable of penetrating the sealing element at the cable entry port when the pushing-in device is driven through the cable entry port. In this manner, a cable inserted in the opening of the pushing-in device may be inserted and fed through the sealing element into the fiber optic closure. Also, the pushing-in device may be used as a plug in a cable entry port.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2008Date of Patent: August 25, 2009Assignee: Corning Cable Systems LLCInventors: Wolf Kluwe, Karyne P. Patent number: 5700012Abstract: The invention includes a seal insert made of elastic sealing material for the sealing of cable connections. This seal insert is made of several sealing disks which are provided with concentric stampings or grooves and with a radial slit. For sealing, the cable openings of the sealing disks are fitted by removing concentric rings. For the sealing, the individual sealing disks are arranged reciprocally over one another, whereby the radial slits do not overlap and whereby the concentric grooves engage a smooth underside of an adjacent disk or a smooth surface of the connecting apparatus. A double seal is shown for the introduction of uncut cables.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1996Date of Patent: December 23, 1997Assignee: RXS Kabelgamituren GmbHInventors: Franz-Fr Froehlich, Wolf Kluwe, Hans-Juergen Meltsch
