  • Patent number: 6629552
Abstract: A device for transferring a film from a carrier strip onto a substrate includes a housing having a supply reel and an empty reel. A film coated carrier strip is guided over an applicator foot where a clip-type slide element is provided in the region around which the carrier strip is looped. The clip-type slide element is made of a friction-reducing material secured to the applicator foot. The slide element has an elliptical cross-sectional shape so that on transfer of the film onto the substrate the contact pressure region of the slide element bears over an area adjacent to the substrate with interposition of the carrier strip.

  • Patent number: 6576327
Abstract: Multi-layer flexible transfer tapes are provided which are useful for covering printing or typing errors in texts or drawings so that corrections may be made. The transfer tapes are characterized by the inclusion of two binder-containing pigmented transfer layers, wherein one transfer layer is cationic and the other transfer layer is anionic.

  • Patent number: 6564847
Abstract: A device for transferring a film from a carrier strip a substrate comprises a supply reel for the film coated carrier strip and an empty reel for receiving the de-coated carrier strip. The carrier strip is guided over an applicator base and over deflector rollers. The effective working edge of applicator base is arranged to be inclined at a fixed angle between 40° and 50° relative to the reel axes.

  • Patent number: 6432515
Abstract: A flexible, multilayered transfer tape is described which contains an auxiliary support, a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive and a binder containing a white-pigmented transfer layer having greater adhesion to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer than to the auxiliary support. The transfer layer, which contains a binder in addition to a white pigment, is present between the auxiliary support and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The transfer tape is characterized in that a non-white pigment is present in finely dispersed form in either or both of a polymer-bonded interlayer and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The polymer-bonded interlayer may be situated between the white-pigmented transfer layer and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer or in the white-pigmented transfer layer itself. Such transfer tapes have significantly improved covering capacity as compared to transfer tapes in which only the white-pigmented transfer layer is tinted.

  • Patent number: 5891562
Abstract: Described is a multi-layer, flexible transfer tape with a backing and an adhesive layer, wherein between the backing and adhesive layer a bonding agent-containing transfer layer is provided, which adheres more strongly to the adhesive layer than to the backing. With this a) the bonding agent-containing transfer layer and/or b) the adhesive layer contains fine hollow particles and a water-soluble, solid alcohol. Furthermore the invention relates to a suitable process for producing such a transfer tape as well as to special application possibilities of same, in particular in rolled-up form in a hand apparatus. In particular, when used it leads to a transferred layer in which fractures, in particular micro-cracks, are excluded, and in an improvement of the initial adhesion when the transfer tape is used again after it has been stored for a long time.
