  • Patent number: 4386885
Abstract: In order to improve cooling of an at least two-part guide vane support or carrier for gas turbines, at which deformations do not occur during any operating state and whose parting surface-connection flanges and connection elements are constructed such that they can withstand, essentially free of deformation, all bending moments resulting from the thermal stresses, it is proposed to design the cooling agent channels arranged within the wall of the guide vane support alternately over the circumference thereof as infeed lines or openings and/or outfeed lines or openings and containing connection channels leading to the individual guide vanes or blades. The guide vane support possesses an essentially conical configuration over its axial extent.

  • Patent number: 4112582
Abstract: An arrangement for positioning an inner circular machine part within an outer circular machine part, the parts being for example a guide vane carrier for a turbo-machine which is positioned within an outer housing, and wherein it is desired to adjust the inner machine part within a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the machine comprises cranked positioning keys which interconnect circumferentially spaced radial recesses in the periphery of the inner machine part with similarly circumferentially spaced non-radial recesses in the outer machine part. The keys are adjustably mounted in the non-radial recesses of the outer machine part, and the center line of the portion of each key engaging the radial recess forms an angle with the center line of the portion of each key engaging the non-radial recess.

  • Patent number: 4078812
Abstract: A combined sealing and guiding arrangement for positioning an inner circular machine part within an outer circular machine part, the parts being for example a stator-blade-carrier for a turbo-machine positioned within an outer casing. The casing and also the stator-blade-carrier consist of two halves which are joined along a horizontal dividing plane, and a sealing ring also consisting of two halves which are joined along that same dividing plane is seated in a groove provided in the periphery of the stator-blade-carrier and clamped against the inner periphery of the casing by means of circumferentially distributed clamping bolts. The lower halves of the outer casing and sealing ring are also provided with aligned grooves in which circumferentially spaced key segments are seated to prevent any relative axial displacement between these two parts.

  • Patent number: 4068958
Abstract: A differentially threaded bolting arrangement for bolting two machine parts together includes one or more bolts the opposite ends of which are provided with threaded sections differing in pitch, a threaded hole in one of the machine parts into which the bolt end with the greater pitch is threaded, a bore through which the bolt passes and an adjacent hollow area in the other machine part in alignment with the threaded hole, and a nut having a cylindric configuration located in the hollow area and which is movable axially but is restrained against rotation. The bolt end having the smaller pitch is threaded through the nut and as the bolt is rotated, the nut is thus caused to move axially into a forced contact with the lower end of the hollow area accompanied by a drawing together of the two machine parts.

  • Patent number: 4050850
Abstract: Rotor parts, such as blades, are locked in axially extending slots in a rotor by locking members positioned in circumferentially extending slots extending between and intersecting the axially extending slots. The locking members are slidably positionable into the circumferentially extending slots and displaceable between a release position and a locking position where they hold the rotor parts within the axially extending slots. A retaining element is in operative association with the locking member for securing it in the locking position. The locking members have ridges which seat against corresponding ridges formed in the circumferentially extending slots for retaining the locking members within the slots. In the locking position, the locking elements form a closure for the opening through the rotor surface into the circumferentially extending slots so that a completely smooth surface is presented on the surface of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 3986779
Abstract: A locking device for releasably fastening parts to rotors of fluid flow machines, the base portions of the parts to be secured fitting in a form-locking manner in at least approximately axially extending fixing slots provided at the circumference of the rotor, the locking device including fixing elements which can be inserted into depression means extending transversely with respect to the axially extending fixing slots and provided in the rotor and into recesses provided in the base portions of the parts to be secured. The depression means are provided at the region of the axially extending fixing slots and divide the flanks of each such axially extending fixing slot into approximately equal parts and the recesses provided in the base portions of the parts to be secured in the assembled condition of such parts coincide with the depression means.
