A filter insert (30) is releasably attached in the outer sleeve (12) by rotation about the central axis of the outer sleeve (12), wherein the filter insert (30) includes a viewing plate (52) intersected perpendicularly by the central axis of the outer sleeve (12). The filter insert (30) is releasably attached to the outer sleeve (12) by a rotation snap device comprising at least one resilient snap hook (44) which is arranged at the outer circumference of the filter insert (30) and resiliently engages around a projection (26) provided at the inner wall of the outer sleeve (12).

    Abstract: In a dermatoscope having a number of light-emitting diodes (7), which are arranged around optics (6), for indirect illumination of an examination area, an optical waveguide (1) is arranged in front of each light-emitting diode (7), the light input surface of which optical waveguide (1) faces the associated light-emitting diode (7) and on whose outer wall the light which is emitted from the light-emitting diode (7) is totally reflected toward the examination area. Instead of a number of optical waveguides (1), a single conical prism is preferably provided, whose base faces the light-emitting diodes (7) and whose cone angle is designed such that the light injected into the base surface from the light-emitting diodes (7) is totally reflected on the outer cone surface.

    Abstract: An optically coded keyboard arrangement has a plurality of key units arranged to be individually actuated; an actuation sensing arrangement that includes a plurality of light emitters generating light beams and a plurality of detectors each placed in the path of a respective light beam. Each key unit includes a key arranged to be depressed and a coded mask coupled to the key for movement with the key in unison upon displacement of the key and for movement relative to the key in a direction transverse to the path of motion of the key. Each key unit further has a switching spring which, in the position of rest of the associated key has an arcuate shape bulging in one direction and engages at one end a countersupport. As the key is depressed, the switching spring is deformed into a more bulging shape, carrying the mask into a position where it is ready to interrupt the light beams.

    Abstract: A feed mechanism for advancing a cartridged ink ribbon in feeding steps whose length is determined dependent upon the type of the ribbon contained in the ribbon cartridge. The feed mechanism includes a feed roller mounted in the cartridge and operatively connected with the ribbon for advancing the ribbon. The feed mechanism further includes a driving device mounted in the machine and operatively connectable to the drive roller upon insertion of the cartridge in the machine. The driving device has at least two output components arranged to rotate with unlike speeds. The feed mechanism further has a coupling arrangement mounted in the cartridge and continuously operatively connected with the feed roller. The coupling arrangement connects a selected one of the output components to the feed roller when the cartridge is in place in the typing machine.
