  • Patent number: 6328995
Abstract: Stable dry powders which are insoluble in hot water and which contain one or more lipid-soluble vitamins an/or one or more carotenoids are formed in an aqueous dispersion containing 2 to 50% by weight of at least one protein, 1 to 30% by weight of at least one sugar, 0.2 to 20% by weight of K2HPO4, Na2HPO4 or mixtures thereof, 0.1 to 20% by weight of at least one lipoid-soluble vitamin and/or at least one carotenoid and 5 to 95% of water. This dispersion is converted into dry powder which is heated in the range of 55° C. to 1800° C.

  • Patent number: 5486363
Abstract: In a process for preparing dry, free-flowing choline chloride-containing powders by atomizing an aqueous choline chloride solution, a colloid-free aqueous choline chloride solution is atomized in a countercurrent-flowing air stream that contains, finely dispersed, a hydrophobic spraying auxiliary metered in in such amounts that the sprayed choline chloride droplets are coated with 2 to 15% by weight of spraying auxiliary, based on choline chloride calculated as 100%, and the coated particles are, if desired, collected in a fluidized bed and dried in the gas stream.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 23, 1996
    Assignee: BASF Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Hans Kiefer, Roland Betz, Wolfgang Bewert
  • Patent number: 5356636
Abstract: A process for preparing stable dry powders which are insoluble in hot water and which contain fat-soluble vitamins and/or carotenoids, which comprises the following steps:a) preparing an aqueous dispersion containing essentially these fat-soluble active substances, film-forming colloids and reducing sugars,b) converting this dispersion into dry vitamin and/or carotenoid products in powder form andc) thermally curing the powder at from 60.degree. to 180.degree. C.,wherein gelatin in combination with one or more organic amino compounds which are free or bonded in the manner of a salt and which contain a basic primary amino group and, in addition, either another amino group, a hydroxyl group, an alkoxy group or a carboxyl group, and/or in combination with sufficient basic alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compound for the dispersion to have a pH of from 7.5 to 10, is used as film-forming colloid, and the dry powders obtainable via this process are described.

  • Patent number: 5318903
Abstract: A process for the production of dry, free-flowing, enzyme preparations by spraying aqueous enzyme dispersions, which may contain additives, in a spraying apparatus, which comprises the enzyme dispersion being sprayed in the presence of from 5 to 60% by weight, based on the content of enzyme in the dispersion, of a spray auxiliary composed of hydrophobic silica and/or a metal salt of a higher fatty acid at from 0.degree. to 50.degree. C., and drying the resulting particles loaded with spray auxiliary.

  • Patent number: 5290567
Abstract: Pulverulent products composed of a water-insoluble core substance and of a protective covering, are obtainable bydispersing the core substance in an aqueous solution of amylose or a starch with an amylose content of more than 40% by weight as film-forming polymer for the protective covering, spraying this dispersion using hydrophobic silica as auxiliary andsubsequently drying the sprayed particles.
