  • Patent number: 9725669
Abstract: Anti-wear and/or friction reducing formulations that include a mixture of at least one first ionic liquid and at least one ashless antiwear compound. The ashless antiwear compound can be a second ionic liquid or an ashless thiophosphate compound. The formulation desirably provides synergistic anti-wear and/or friction reducing properties. The first IL can be a monocationic ionic liquid or a dicationic ionic liquid. The second IL is a dicationic ionic liquid. The ashless thiophosphate is desirably a thiophosphate, such as a fluorothiophosphate (FTP), an alkylphosphorofluoridothiolate, or an alkylthioperoxydithiophosphate. Antiwear and/or friction reduction formulations comprising the above mixtures diluted up to 25% by weight in a base oil.

  • Patent number: 7544718
Abstract: The invention is a continuous process for preparing a cosmetic or dermatological preparation, comprising emulsifying at least two pre-products in at least one mixing apparatus, cooling the emulsion to less than 40° C. by adding an aqueous phase with a lower temperature than the mixture, adding at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of perfume oil and temperature-sensitive active ingredients, and homogenizing the emulsion in at least one homogenizing apparatus at a temperature of from 20 to 50° C. The invention also includes a product made by such process.

  • Patent number: 6349010
Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a thin film magnetic head (20) with eight write units (21-28) positioned adjacent to each other in a transversal direction (y) to write data in parallel tracks on a magnetic tape (10). Switching arrangement 70 has a switch (SW) to switch from a normal mode to a combination mode. In the normal mode the switch is in a first position (D1) and the switching arrangement (70) couple a first data signal (S1) to a first write unit (21), a second data signal (S2) to a second write unit (22) etc., so that in the normal mode eight tracks (T21-T28) are written on the tape resulting in a first track density. In the combination mode the switch is in a second position (D2) and the switching arrangement couples the first data signal (S1) to the first and second write units (21 and 22), the second data signal (S2) to the third and fourth write units (23 and 24) etc.

  • Patent number: 5210668
Abstract: Magnetic head comprising a magnetic core having two core limbs (1,3) formed from a ferrite, which core limbs constitute two core faces located opposite each other, at least one of said core faces having a cladding of a soft-magnetic material having a higher saturation magnetisation than the ferrite, and a non-magnetic transducing gap (11) present between the core faces and having at least one layer of a first metallic material (21) and bonded layers (23) of a second metallic material. The cladding comprises a first cladding layer (15) of an alloy based on Ni-Fe on which a second cladding layer (17) of an amorphous alloy based on Co-Ti and/or Zr and/or Hf-Nb and/or Ta is provided, while the first metallic material, chosen from the group of Mo, Ti, Cr and NiCr, is directly provided on the amorphous alloy of the cladding. (FIG. 2).

  • Patent number: 4897745
Abstract: In accordance with a method of adjusting the gaps of two magnetic heads (11, 12) which are arranged on a head disc (4) adjacent. One end portion of a supporting plate (6) is provided with a slot to form two limbs (9, 10) which project from a basic portion (8) of the supporting plate and whose free ends each carry one of the two magnetic heads on coplanar major surfaces (13, 14) of the limbs, after which the supporting plate is secured to the head disc with its basic portion.
