  • Patent number: 10421076
Abstract: A drum cutting machine has a rotary drum and has a plurality of blades arranged along the contour of the rotary drum. The lateral surface of the rotary drum is provided with a multiplicity of holes. A supporting part matches the contour of the rotary drum and has for each of the blades a bearing point that defines the position of the cutting edge. A blade box for such a machine makes it easier to move the blades into the correct position, thereby reducing the complexity in terms of maintenance.

  • Patent number: 6115583
Abstract: A device for contactless transmission of at least data to mobile data carriers, in particular chip cards, via an electromagnetic field. The device includes an antenna (3) for emitting data to and/or receiving data from the mobile data carriers (15), an antenna field area (1) at least for covering the antenna (3), and spacers (5, 7). The antenna field area is bounded by edge regions and the spacers are located on at least one of the edge regions of the antenna field area (1). The spacers are configured to prevent areas of the human chest, back and pelvis from approaching too close to the antenna field area. They can be configured, e.g., as bows arranged at least on two opposite side edges (17, 19) of the antenna field area. Alternately, the device can be fashioned with a well (13) for holding the antenna field area or with at least one elevation (25, 27) on at least one edge region of the antenna field area in lieu of or in addition to the spacers.

  • Patent number: 5196317
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for achieving high, thermally-induced expression rates, which last for a relatively long period of time, of proteins in recombinant cells, preferably in E. coli cells, by optimizing cell density, induction temperature and supplemented amino-acid-containing substrates.

  • Patent number: 4800161
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the microbiological preparation of aldose-1-epimerase by cultivating microorganisms in a nutrient medium and release of the enzyme from the cells, which process is characterized in that microorganisms of the genus Acinetobacter are used.

  • Patent number: 3964974
Abstract: Glucose is rapidly ad quantitatively determined with an analytical agent containing glucose dehydrogenase having an activity of at least 2 .mu./mg and NADH.sub.2 oxidase activity less than 0.1%, a pyridine coenzyme, a buffer and mutarotase to increase spontaneous mutarotation of alpha-glucose to beta-glucose. There may be optionally present inhibitors for reduced pyridine coenzyme oxidases and a thermal stabilizing amount of alkali metal chloride.

  • Patent number: 3959080
Abstract: Biochemically active compounds e.g., proteins and particulate biological materials such as bacteria and viruses, are immobilized on a water-swellable or water-insoluble matrix by covalent bonding to a partially crosslinked polymer containing reactive groups capable of binding the biochemically active compound thereto.
