  • Publication number: 20060102402
Abstract: A device for raising a body component of a motor vehicle, especially an engine hood, from a starting position into a receiving position can be returned to an operative state by opening and closing the body component after actuation. A method to operate such a device has the following steps: The device is activated, with the result that the body component is raised; it is recognized that the body component can be lowered again, whereupon a deactivation mechanism is actuated, with the result that the body component is lowered; the body component is opened and closed again, with the result that the device is returned to an operative state. Preferably, the device has a spring that relaxes when the body component is raised and that is tensioned when the body component is opened and closed.

  • Patent number: 6063954
Abstract: This invention relates to non-ionic emulsifiers based on fatty acid esters of polyalkoxylated polyhydric alcohols as fundamental constituents. At least two fundamental constituents are linked to each other by the reaction of hydroxyl groups with a polyisocyanate, with the formation of urethane bonds.

  • Patent number: 5981696
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for preparing coating powder compositions in which one or a plurality of base resins and one or a plurality of hardeners, each of which is in solid form, is dissolved with a low-molecular compound above its critical pressure and critical temperature. This low-molecular compound is inert with respect to the base resins and hardeners and is in gaseous form under normal operating conditions with respect to pressure and temperature. The pressure of the resultant solution is then reduced, for example, by spraying. The resultant coating powder composition can be sprayed directly onto a substrate to be coated. Coating powders can also be recycled according to the process of the invention.

  • Patent number: 5932282
Abstract: A process for producing a repair coating This invention relates to a process for producing a multi-layer repair coating by the application of a transparent clear lacquer coat, which is unpigmented or which contains colourless pigment, to a predried or hardened colour- and/or effect-imparting base pigment coat, or by the application of a pigmented covering lacquer coat to an optionally precoated substrate. Binder vehicles which are hardenable exclusively by radical polymerisation are used for the production of the transparent clear lacquer coat or of the pigmented covering lacquer coat, and hardening is effected by means of pulsed, high-energy UV radiation.

  • Patent number: 5753739
Abstract: Aqueous emulsion of one or more water dilutable epoxide resins, containing10 to 70 wt % of one or more epoxide resins5 to 50 wt % of one or more organic solvents having a boiling point of 100.degree. to 160.degree. C.,10 to 70 wt % of water, and one or more chlorinated polyolefines in a weight ratio of epoxide resins:chlorinated polyolefine of 10:0.5 to 10:4.5, percentages by weight relating in each case to the total aqueous emulsion. The emulsions can be used for the preparation of coating agents, especially for coating plastic substrates.

  • Patent number: 5453300
Abstract: Two component-coating agents and emulsions which can be used for their preparation. The coating agents contain:A) 10 to 40 wt.-% of one or more polyols having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 500 to 200000, an OH-number of 15 to 300 and a content of ionic groups and/or groups convertible into ionic groups of 5 to 400 meq/100 g solid resin, which are at least partly neutralized,B) 0.5 to 10 wt.-% of one of more chlorinated polyolefines having a chlorine content of 15 to 35 wt.-%,C) 5 to 40 wt.-% of one or more aromatic solvents having a boiling range from 100.degree. to 160.degree. C.,D) 25 to 75 wt.-% of water,E) 0 to 30 wt.-% of one or more further water dilutable binders which are free from groups reactive with NCO,the percentages by weight of components A) to E) adding up to 100 wt.-% andF) one or more polyisocyanates having on average at least two free isocyanate groups per molecule, in such an amount that the ratio of the number of reactive isocyanate groups to the OH-groups of the polyols is 0.

  • Patent number: 5416136
Abstract: A catalyst-free single-component coating agent containing (A) one or more compounds acting as cross-linking agents and with on average at least two CH-azide hydrogen atoms, (B) one or more (meth)acrylate copolymers, polyester resins and/or polyurethane resins capable of Michael addition, with .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated groups bonded via carbonyl, carboxyl and/or carboxylic amide groups, a C.dbd.C equivalent weight of 85-1800 and a weight average molecular weight of 170-50000. The equivalent ratio of A to B is 2:1 to 1:2. The coating agent contains solvents and conventional lacquer additives, and optionally contains water, pigments and/or fillers. It results in particularly acid-resistant coatings and is particularly suitable for producing covering lacquer and clear lacquer coatings in the motor-vehicle sector.
