C. and (meth)acrylates (B) whose homopolymers have a glass transition temperature below that of the polybutyl (meth)acrylate, the weight ratio of the (meth)acrylates (A) to the (meth)acrylates (B) being from 3:1 to 1:3,(c) from 2 to 15% by weight of methyl methacrylate, styrene and/or acrylonitrile and(d) 0.8 to 5% by weight of monoolefinically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acids of 3 to 5 carbon atoms and/or their amides which are unsubstituted or substituted at the nitrogen atoms by alkyl and/or alkylol radicals of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and/or hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylates where the alkyl groups are of 2 to 5 carbon atoms,are used for coating sheet-like substrates.

    Abstract: Aqueous polymer dispersions which have a long shelf life are obtainable by dispersing a mixture of from 15 to 70% by weight of a copolymer (A) of(I) from 1.5 to 15% by weight of copolymerizable compounds of 3 to 10 carbon atoms which contain a carboxyl or carboxylic anhydride group,(II) from 65 to 98.5% by weight of C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 -alkyl acrylates or methacrylates,(III) from 0 to 20% by weight of vinylaromatics,(IV) from 0 to 20% by weight of copolymerizable carbonyl compounds and(V) from 0 to 10% by weight of further copolymerizable organic compounds not stated under (I) to (IV), and from 30to 85% by weight of a copolymer (B) of from 60 to 100% by weight of the monomers (II) and from 0 to 40% by weight of the monomers (III) to (V), with the proviso that the copolymers (A) and (B) together contain, as components, more than 65% by weight of alkyl (meth)acrylates (II) whose homopolymers have glass transition temperatures of less than 0.degree. C.

    Abstract: Compounds of the general formulae ##STR1## where R is versatyl and R' is unsubstituted or alkyl-substituted straight-chain alkylene of 4 or 5 carbon atoms can be prepared by reacting the versatic ester of 1,3-dihydroxy-propyl-2 acrylate and/or of 2,3-dihydroxy-propyl-1 acrylate with equimolar amounts of saturated or monoolefinically unsaturated cyclic dicarboxylic anhydrides having 4 or 5 carbon atoms and an oxygen atom in the ring at from 50.degree. to 150.degree. C. in the presence of customary esterification catalysts and can be used as reactive diluents in radiation-curable contact adhesives.
