The medical measurement device is personalized by transmitting personalization information to the medical measurement device, the personalization information being related to the object from which the measurement data is to be collected. Abstract: A search system for searching a secured medical server is provided. The system includes a web-portal and a medical server. The web-portal communicates with a processor and a memory. The processor is operable to communicate with the memory, which is operable to store a medical server password and a medical server location. The medical server includes the medical documents and an access portal. The access portal protects the medical documents in the medical server. The access portal is operable to provide access to the medical documents when provided with the medical server password. The processor is operable to generate and transmit a request signal including a request for information and the medical server password to the healthdata server.

Abstract: A semantic search is provided. The semantic search generates related terms that relate to a search term using a selected ontology domain. The related terms may be compared to information in a medical document. The semantic search may also generate related terms for the medical document. The related terms for the medical document may be compared to the related terms that relate to the search term.

Abstract: A system and method for optimizing status of a care plan is described, the method including defining a care plan as worksteps associated by a rule-based process. Historical data is collected for a plurality of worksteps for such attributes as diagnosis, clinical outcome and cost. The data may be analyzed by data mining techniques so as to discover the optimum relationships between the patient symptoms, the worksteps and a success criteria. The success criteria may include correct diagnosis, equipment use efficiency, cost, and successful clinical outcome. The rule-based process may be modified to take account of the optimum relationships. A patient presenting with a constellation of symptoms may have the symptoms compared with care plans success ranking to determine an optimum care plan.

Abstract: A system and method is described for managing the release of information from a personal electronic health record (EHR). A central data warehouse maintains at least a part of the HER along with at least a copy of a patient's permission plan for the release of data to others in the health care system. Requests for information may be made by addressees, each addressee possessing credentials. The system and method compares the credentials of the addressee with the personal permissions plan and releases the information permitted by the permissions plan. Where information is denied by the plan, the patient may be offered the opportunity to modify profiles of the plan so as to permit the release of information. The patient may be provided with background information on the need for release of the data, and legal aspects of the release of the data so as to make an informed choice.

Abstract: A method and a software product is described for managing the evolution of changes and updates to a patient identification system. In a patient identification system, the data may have errors or inconsistencies which preclude automatic matching of the data for an input data record, representing a person being admitted to a hospital, with a patient object in a data base, the patient object representing a unique individual. The method includes identifying the input data records that cannot be automatically matched, and manually matching the records to objects. The manual steps are recorded and used to develop updates to the software product. The input data is again processed by the patient identification method and the amount of improvement in, or the error in, the association is used to determine when the updated software may be installed.

Abstract: In a method for association checking of structured data sets from which patient identification data can be determined in a patient administration system with electronic patient records that respectively include a structured base data set containing patient identification data upon an access to a patient record and/or at least one structured data set thereof, a comparison of patient identification data determined from at least the just-accessed structured data set and/or one structured data set already opened with the patient identification data of the base data set ensues. A warning is output to a user if correspondence does not exist.

Register and gage-pin position accuracy are executed with one and the same sensor unit, having one light receiver (sensor), which receives light from at least one light emitter. In this way, both of the position accuracy can be checked economically while saving space and in extreme cases, be corrected, preferably using a control fitting.

Abstract: A procedure and device for measuring the thickness of a liquid layer, in particular an oil layer, on the rollers of printing presses. The mass of the liquid layer in the printing press is measured by a measuring device and that the thickness of the liquid layer on the roller be determined on the basis of the measured mass of the liquid layer. The measuring device preferably contains a piezoelectric sensor in a quartz microbalance, which picks up the frequency changes on the basis of the mass applied to the surface or on the basis of changes in the mass and converts them into corresponding masses or mass changes on the basis of the liquid layer. Furthermore, a control device is provided which controls the application of fluid on the roller as a function of the masses or mass changes determined.
