Patent number: 8223114Abstract: A method for displaying a moving image on a display, such that all pixel lines of the display are addressed in each case during image periods for displaying image information, and a backlight for displaying the image information backlights the pixel lines. The display of moving images is enhanced by the fact that the pixel addresses remain unchanged during a first image period and a second image period, following the first image period, for displaying the same image information, and after the first image period, the backlight backlights the pixel lines following a waiting period.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2008Date of Patent: July 17, 2012Assignee: Eizo GmbHInventor: Wolfgang Eckhardt

Patent number: 7796113Abstract: The aim of the invention is to largely prevent certain influences from distributing the luminance of an image that can be reproduced on a panel of a flat screen. To this end, light-permeable parts are arranged between a sensor and a back light illuminating the panel from the rear, the ageing and/or temperature properties of said light-permeable parts essentially corresponding to those of the light-permeable parts of the panel.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2004Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Assignee: EIZO GmbHInventors: Wolfgang Eckhardt, Andreas Kärcher

Patent number: 7576750Abstract: A method and an arrangement for optimizing the luminance characteristic curve for a display system using a lookup table. Digitized video levels are supplied to this lookup table and are optimized using correction values stored in the lookup table. With suitable means, the luminance characteristic curve can be easily adapted to standards and/or custom specifications. The memory requirement is low, since it is not necessary to provide different lookup tables for different ambient luminosities or selected reproduction models (curves).Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2004Date of Patent: August 18, 2009Assignee: EIZO GmbHInventors: Wolfgang Eckhardt, Andreas Kaercher, Uwe Nagel, Hartmut Schulz

Publication number: 20060209006Abstract: An LCD display module with a backlight is proposed, of which the light backlights an LCD display of the LCD display module. The fact that the backlight is arranged between a circuit board and the LCD display, the circuit board is equipped with white LEDs or OLED segments which are essentially arranged in the form of a matrix, and the brightness of the relevant LED or OLED is able to be controlled allows an essentially even brightness distribution on the LCD display to be produced.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2006Publication date: September 21, 2006Inventor: Wolfgang Eckhardt

Patent number: 6570320Abstract: The invention is directed to an extremely low-capacitance device for shaping an electron beam. The device is based on a ceramic body having a monolithic multi-layer structure. The manufacture of the ceramic body ensues with the assistance of LTCC technology, whereby this method is designationally modified. The body is constructed of pre-sintered ceramic layers whose lateral shrinkage is suppressed. The through apertures of the electrodes for the electron beam are thus arranged exactly coaxially, and the tolerances of the electrode dimensions are decoupled from the shrinkage during sintering. The electron beam of an electron gun is focused and the intensity thereof is modulated with the assistance of such a device.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2000Date of Patent: May 27, 2003Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Klaus Burkhardt, Wolfgang Eckhardt, Silvia Gohlke, Ruth Männer, Wolfram Wersing
