Wolfgang Eisermann has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 5306805
Abstract: This invention relates to a simplified process for the preparation of polyarylene sulphides with improved product quality from alkali metal sulphides and dihalogenated aromatic compounds, in which the alkali metal sulphides are prepared and reacted in situ.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 10, 1992
Date of Patent: April 26, 1994
    Assignee: Bayer AG
Inventors: Wolfgang Arlt, Wolfgang Alewelt, Karl-Heinrich Meyer, Manfred Schmidt, Erhard Tresper, Wolfgang Eisermann
  • Patent number: 5247063
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the purification of optionally branched polyarylene sulphides (PPS). Polyarylene sulphides which have been purified according to the invention are distinguished by the reduced amount of ash-forming impurities contained in them.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 12, 1992
Date of Patent: September 21, 1993
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Wolfgang Alewelt, Franz Alfes, Wolfgang Eisermann, Erhard Tresper
  • Patent number: 4895930
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for purifying and isolating polyarylene sulphides. In this process polyarylene sulphides are obtained with a particularly low electrolyte content.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 30, 1988
Date of Patent: January 23, 1990
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Franz Alfes, Wolfgang Alewelt, Wolfgang Eisermann, Erhard Tresper
  • Patent number: 4771120
Abstract: The invention relates to polyarylene sulphides with melt viscosities settable to defined values. The products are distinguished by high stability of the melt. They are obtained by adding, in the preparation of these polyarylene sulphides, certain phenols as chain terminators to the reaction mixture.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 7, 1987
Date of Patent: September 13, 1988
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Wolfgang Alewelt, Franz Alfes, Wolfgang Eisermann, Wolfgang Jakob, Erhard Tresper
  • Patent number: 4734484
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the isolation of polyarylene sulphides, polyarylene sulphides with particularly low electrolyte content being obtained.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 26, 1986
Date of Patent: March 29, 1988
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Franz Alfes, Wolfgang Alewelt, Wolfgang Eisermann, Erhard Tresper
  • Patent number: 4639507
Abstract: The isolation of polyarylene sulphides by freeing polyarylene sulphides of the type obtained in customary production processes from adherent water and any other volatile constituents by treating the polyarylene sulphides in screw machines and optionally melting them either simultaneously or subsequently.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 3, 1985
Date of Patent: January 27, 1987
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Wolfgang Alewelt, Wolfgang Eisermann, Karl-Heinrich Meyer, Erhard Tresper, Martin Ullrich
  • Patent number: 4588809
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved process for isolating pulverulent chlorinated aliphatic polymers from their aliphatic chlorohydrocarbon solutions by introducing a mixture of steam and special solvent into said solutions, removing the aliphatic chlorohydrocarbon by steam distillation, and isolating the chlorinated polymer in the customary manner as a solid. The process produces a product which is practically free (.ltoreq.20 ppm) of toxic aliphatic chlorohydrocarbons and can be safely used in paints, adhesives or printing inks.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 19, 1984
Date of Patent: May 13, 1986
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Karl-Heinrich Meyer, Diez Heine, Franz Alfes, Wolfgang Eisermann
