Abstract: A roller for drafting equipment of a spinning mill machine with an oblong cylindrical base body (102) is claimed characterized in that a hollow space (106) is provided in the base body (102). In this manner the heat transfer from the roller bearing via the base body to a roller covering on the base body can be reduced considerably. Under another aspect of the invention a roller with an oblong cylindrical base body provided with an outer roller covering essentially surrounding the circumference of the base body, whereby at least one thermally insulating layer is installed between the base body and the roller covering, serves the same purpose. • Patent number: 6401303
Abstract: A fleece funnel is provided which is placed at a predetermined distance behind the output rolls of the stretch works of a textile machine, particularly a carding machine. The longitudinal side of the funnel is laterally closed by a baffle plate. The baffle plate borders a bulged impact plates, which, at the deepest part of the bulge possess an outlet opening for the reception of a funnel duct. The impact plates form an intersection line with a ramp located oppositely to the baffle plate. On the impact plate from any optional point of the intersection line, a decline is defined to the exit-opening of the funnel.

  • Patent number: 6134752
Abstract: A pneumatically energized loading mechanism for a drafting device is proposed for loading the upper rolls of the device. This mechanism possesses pneumatic cylinders which subject the upper rolls to a force, which acts from a holder plate (4) for the securement of the cylinder (2). The support is effected by a stop plate (200), which acts in unison with holder plate (4). The cylinder (2) possesses a guide surface (201) positioning the cylinder on the support (4). The cylinder (2) exhibits a piston with a circular cross-section and is comprised of plastic. The cylinder (2) is affixed to the holder (4) by a securement means (20). By the support of the cylinder (2) on the holder (4), the securement means (20) need accept no force engendered by the piston. The cylinder (2) simultaneously forms a passage for a current bus which serves as the power cutoff of the drafting device when fiber windup difficulties arise.

  • Patent number: 5940925
Abstract: The invention concerns a cleaning lip for a rotating roll of a textile machine in a rolling mill (1) for processing fibrous materials wherein the cleaning lip (9) is comprised of a combined carrying device and a lip, the length (1) of the lip (11, 23) being limited by a wiping edge (AK, AK.sub.1), and the lip is composed of plastic. On the lip (11, 23) and in proximity to the carrying device, a groove (12, 24) is placed which runs parallel to said wiping edge (AK, AK.sub.1) of the lip. Alternatively, the cleaning lip can be installed for the clearing of wrapping, in that, upon the roll (14) reversing its direction from an original direction, then the wiping edge (AK, AK.sub.1) of the lip (11, 23) swings itself out of its original roll surface contact position. Upon a subsequent change of roll rotation back to the original direction, the wiping edge (AK, AK.sub.1) also swings itself back to its original wiping contact position.

  • Patent number: 5815887
Abstract: A process and device are provided to introduce a fiber fleece through the nip of a pair of calendar rollers. Pressurized air is directed to a cylindrical segment of a sliver guiding system down stream from a tapered conical section so that the pressurized air draws the fiber fleece through the sliver guiding system without requiring lateral venting or expansion of the pressurized air. The pressurized air vents from the front end of the cylindrical section adjacent the nip of the pair of calendar rollers.

  • Patent number: 5799374
Abstract: A spinning machine for the doubling or stretching of fiber bands with a rolling section having lower rolls which are secured in journal blocks, and wherein the upper rolls may be also secured on said journal blocks with pressure means for the loading of said upper rolls, it is proposed that the pivoting axis of the pressure arm for the placement of the pressure means to the upper rolls be arranged in such a way that, when observed in the running direction of the fiber band, said axis lies behind the rolling section. Advantageously, what is achieved thereby, is that the spinning machine can be maintained in a considerably simpler and quicker manner. Following the upward pivoting of the pressure arm, the entire area of the rolling section becomes freely accessible. The pivoting geometry of the pressure arm can be so varied, that the upper rolls can be easily restored into the guides on the journal blocks of the lower rolls.

  • Patent number: 5761773
Abstract: A fleece funnel is provided for use in textile drafting equipment to receive a fiber fleece conveyed by a pair of delivery rollers. The fleece funnel includes a long side disposed adjacent to the delivery rollers. A funnel area is defined in the long side for receiving the fiber fleece. The funnel area defines a planar guiding surface in a planar substantially concave impact surface. A funnel opening is defined in the impact surface and a funnel channel is in communication with the funnel opening. A ramp surface is defined on the long side outside of the funnel area. The ramp surface meets the impact surface and defines a common contour line with the impact surface so that air forced out of the fiber fleece balloon formed as the fiber fleece is conveyed into the funnel opening is drawn away from the funnel area towards the ramp surface unimpeded by planar components of the fleece funnel.

Bores are defined in the punched-out shapes for receipt of the lower roller bearings. An encapsulated lubrication system supplies lubricant to the bearings and includes a channel defined through the punched-out shape with an outlet into the bore and an inlet in communication with the channel defined through the base body which is in further communication with a source of lubricant at one end thereof. An excess lubricant removal channel is defined in the punched-out shape and has an opening in communication with the bore and an outlet on a side of the punched-out shape away from the operating area or space of the lower roller.

  • Patent number: 5689856
Abstract: A fiber sliver guidance system is provided for textile machine drafting equipment wherein a fiber sliver is drafted by pairs of drafting rollers and conveyed by a pair of delivery rollers to a calendar device. The guidance system is disposed between the delivery rollers and the calendar device and includes a plurality of nozzle inserts which define a fiber sliver channel between the delivery rollers and the calendar device. The fiber sliver channel has an axis defined by two axial segments which can be angled relative to each other. At least one of the nozzle inserts can be articulated relative to the other nozzle inserts about a swivel axis. The articulatable nozzle swivels automatically from an operating position to a closed position upon a back-up of fiber fleece in the fiber sliver channel.

  • Patent number: 5680678
Abstract: A fiber sliver guidance system for a textile machine drafting equipment is provided and includes a first nozzle section disposed relative to the delivery rollers to receive a fiber fleece therefrom and form the fiber fleece into a fiber sliver. A second nozzle section is connected to the first nozzle section to receive the fiber sliver therefrom. The second nozzle section includes an essentially cylindrical sliver channel disposed to guide the sliver to the nip of the calender rollers. The sliver channel of the second nozzle section includes a guiding section defined by spaced apart end segments which extend on opposite sides of an alongside the calender rollers past the nip. The side signals cooperate with the calender rollers to define a limited air loss channel for the fiber sliver directly to the nip.

  • Patent number: 4266410
Abstract: A warp knitting machine has a row of needles, a row of warp thread guides for feeding to the needles warp threads which form the chain stitches of a ground fabric and a row of weft thread guides for feeding to the needles weft threads which form the inlay of the ground fabric. At least one row of pile thread guides is used to feed a respective pile thread to each needle. A row of pile-thread reserve-forming supports is provided, each support being individually shiftable, by a jacquard mechanism, from a reserve-forming position to a reserve-releasing position. The reserve-forming support, when in the reserve-forming position, forms a reserve length in a respective pile thread, by increasing the length of the path which the pile thread takes to a respective needle. Each and every pile thread is provided with such a reserve length in each and every course of the fabric. Each needle is provided with a clamp which clamps the pile thread to the needle.
