  • Patent number: 4808772
Abstract: A cable joint comprising a pair of end bodies and a longitudinally slotted sleeve which is secured on the end bodies with a sealing system arranged therebetween characterized by the sealing system having two annular portions and at least one longitudinal portion and an arrangement for clamping the sleeve in sealing engagement on the end bodies. Preferably, the sealing system is reusable and the assembly can be accomplished with ordinary tools such as a screwdriver. In one embodiment, the annular portions are separate from the longitudinal portions. In another embodiment, a single ring-shaped element forms both the annular portions and the two longitudinal portions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 14, 1987
Date of Patent: February 28, 1989
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4409430
Abstract: A multiple joint box having a socket pipe and sealing bodies, the sealing bodies comprising spirally wound tape having semicircular recesses formed along its length which coincide to form circular cable apertures. The multiple joint box may be applied without the necessity of cutting or desplicing the cable.

  • Patent number: 4241234
Abstract: An improved cable fitting which consists of a material which is shrinkable under the influence of heat and which has at least one sealing area provided with a sealing device including adhesive agents which are also influenced by heat characterized by the sealing device being a permanent plastic sealing member which is disposed between two adhesive layers. The sealing area of the fitting may be a closure area which has a separation plane defined by a pair of flanges and/or may be a socket-like area or opening in which a cable is inserted through. In either instance, the improved sealing device ensures the required mechanical stability through the use of the adhesive layer and the permanent plastic sealing member or insert ensures sealing against humidity.

  • Patent number: 4236047
Abstract: A sealing device characterized by two sealing members which are clamped together to support at least one cable within a cable fitting. Each of the sealing member has at least two axially spaced lamella-form sealing elements, which extend inward from a separation plane and have a ring-shape hollow space therebetween. The sealing elements are cut in an appropriate position for receiving the cable adjacent to the separation plane. The improvement includes a disk shape member in the ring-shape space to subdivide each of the spaces and to prevent the flow of a sealing material, which is disposed between the sealing elements and the cable, into the ring-shape spaces.

  • Patent number: 4087190
Abstract: A cable sleeve having a tubular member with a longitudinally extending slit with longitudinal wedge-shaped flanges along each side, which slit is held in a closed sealing relationship by wedge-shaped clamping rails characterized by an improvement comprising each of the clamping rails having a projection or embossment having an opening therethrough and a tightening band or strap extending through the opening with one end being provided with means for preventing passage of the one end through the opening of the projection, and the band having means for fixing the other end of the band to the cable sleeve so that during assembly of the clamping rail on the wedge-shaped portion, a tension force applied to the band forces the rail into the assembled position and the means for fixing prevents the accidental disassembly of the rail from the member. In a preferred embodiment, the cable sleeve has a pair of wedge-shaped portions and a pair of clamping rails are utilized.
