  • Patent number: 7153385
Abstract: Method for producing a multi-ply web of flexible material, such as paper and nonwoven material, comprising at least one first and one second ply which are interconnected by gluing in a plurality of discrete glue sites. The web is printed with at least one printing pattern which is in register with the glue pattern. The multi-ply web is produced by bringing a first ply in contact with a patterned glue transfer roll, transferring glue to the first ply in a glue pattern, a second ply is brought in contact with the glue applied side of the first ply in a press nip between a patterned lamination roll and an impression roll, the glue transfer roll and the lamination roll being in register with each other and having corresponding patterns.

  • Patent number: 5808168
Abstract: Waste gas obtained in the hydroformylation of olefinically unsaturated compounds in the presence of an aqueous catalyst solution comprising water-soluble rhodium complexes (1st reaction stage) is fed to a homogeneous reaction system in which residual amounts of the olefinically unsaturated compounds from the first reaction stage are reacted in a homogeneous reaction system (2nd reaction stage).

  • Patent number: 5300708
Abstract: A process for the catalytic hydrogenation of organic compounds in the gas phase. The reaction product-containing circulating gas leaving the hydrogenation reactor is compressed without prior cooling, and is then used to heat the starting materials in a superheater to the reaction temperature. The circulating gas stream is further cooled in a hot-gas heat exchanger by cold reactants in a counter-current manner; as a result, substantially all the reaction product condenses out leaving recycle gas. After addition of fresh gas and starting material, the recycle gas is returned via a purification column to the hydrogenation reactor.

  • Patent number: 4699773
Abstract: A process for the preparation of ammonium nitrate by the reaction of nitric acid with ammonia in two stages at elevated temperature, in which the first stage is carried out at elevated pressure and the second stage is carried out at atmospheric pressure. The heat of neutralization released in the first stage is used to vaporize a portion of the reactor contents, the remaining heat of reaction being utilized to produce steam. The vapor leaving the first stage develops a pressure which controls the valve regulating the amount of heat recovered by steam generation. The valve is opened when the pressure of the vapor exceeds a set value, usually in the range of 3.4 to 4.8 bars. Decomposition products of ammonium nitrate are also measured and override the pressure regulated control of the proporiton of heat recovered by steam generation, so as to maintain ammonium nitrate decomposition within acceptable limits. An apparatus for carrying out the process is also disclosed.
