  • Patent number: 5958608
Abstract: A friction system moistened by a lubricating oil comprising a pair of friction bodies movable relative to each other along a friction surface. At least one of the friction bodies contains a friction lining having a heat capacity ratio and a heat conductivity ratio which diminish perpendicularly away from the friction surface such that boundary friction and thermal elimination of the lubricating oil ensue at individual friction points of the friction surface, thereby disposing the seizing tendency of the friction bodies and obtaining constant coefficients of friction and low rates of wear.

  • Patent number: 5918718
Abstract: The friction surfaces (4) of two essentially annular friction elements (1) which, through relative motion, can be arranged to transmit torque, are each approximately formed like the surface of a spherical layer whose center (M) is situated on the axis (5) of the annular frictional elements (1) outside the bottom plane of the spherical layer. This is a simple way to ensure a whole-surface, interlocking contact and a good friction performance over a large number of cycles even during a minor tilt of the two cooperating friction surfaces (4).

  • Patent number: 5176010
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the amount of yarn withdrawn from a warp beam mounted on the frame of the warp beam knitting machine is disclosed. A support arm is mounted on the frame and a lever arm is pivotally mounted on the support arm. A pressure roll is supported on the lever arm and engages the yarn wound on the warp beam. The pressure roll is operatively connected to a signal generator which generates pulses representative of the length of yarn withdrawn from the warp beam. A limit switch is mounted on the support arm and is adapted for electrical connection to the main drive mechanism of the warp knitting machine. The limit switch has open and closed positions adapted for controlling operation of the knitting machine. When the switch is closed the knitting machine is operable.

  • Patent number: 5163307
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the drive mechanism of the warp beam of a warp knitting machine is disclosed. A pressure roll is carried by a support arm biased toward the warp beam so that the pressure roll engages the warp beam. The pressure roll is operatively connected to a signal generator which emits signals representative of the speed and thus, the amount of yarn withdrawn from the warp beam. A controller receives the generated signals compares the signals to a predetermined knitting machine operating standard. A control signal is generated to the warp beam drive mechanism for controlling the speed of yarn delivery from the warp beam.

  • Patent number: 5108718
Abstract: Toxic wastes are destroyed by contact thereof with a steam plasma jet and immediately thereafter with an oxidizing medium followed by washing of the resultant gaseous product with an alkaline medium. An apparatus for carrying out this method is in the form of a tubular assembly adapted to be received on a plasmatron in axial alignment therewith.

  • Patent number: 5055167
Abstract: Polymer waste products are converted into a subdivided form and into a conveyable consistency and supplied to hydrogen plasma jet, preferably with an average mass temperature of at least 1,000.degree. C. and a pressure of 0.05 to 0.5 MPa, so that a mixing of the polymer suspension or granulate with the hydrogen plasma occurs. In this hydrogen plasma, the polymer waste products are decomposed completely and react to form highly endothermic, valuable products, such as acetylene, ethylene, hydrogen, CO, HCN or HCl.

  • Patent number: 4227351
Abstract: A centrifugal wheel assembly includes a disc-type guide wheel having a rotary axis; and a plurality of impeller vanes oriented radially with respect to the guide wheel. Each impeller vane has oppositely located particle propelling surfaces of identical shape. Each impeller vane has a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis oriented perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. Both axes are contained in a central plane passing through the impeller vane and oriented parallel to the particle propelling surfaces. The impeller vane is symmetrical with respect to both axes. Each impeller vane further has recesses at its mid length; the recesses are arranged symmetrically with respect to both axes and receive clamping elements for releasably fastening each impeller vane to the guide wheel.
