  • Publication number: 20030010019
Abstract: The turbine (4) of the exhaust gas turbocharger, which is located in the exhaust gas channel (3) of the internal combustion engine (1), has a variable geometry. The regulation of the boost pressure (pld) is performed via an adjustment of the turbine geometry. A very rapid response of the boost pressure regulation to a variable load, with an overshoot of the specified value, which would damage the turbocharger, being avoided, is achieved by determining a manipulated variable (vtg) for the turbine geometry as a function of the exhaust gas back pressure (pag) prevailing in the exhaust gas channel (3) upstream from the turbine.

  • Patent number: 6446749
Abstract: A steering system for a motor vehicle having at least one steerable wheel, an actuator and a superposing gear assembly. The steering movement, which is initiated by the driver of the vehicle, and the movement, which is initiated by the actuator, are superposed by the superposing gear assembly for generating a steering movement of the steerable wheel within pregiven steering stops. The essence of the invention is that the movement, which is initiated by the actuator, is at least reduced before reaching the steering stop. According to the invention, one arrives at a superposed steering with which the steering stops are considered so as to provide increased safety and increased comfort.

  • Patent number: 6395231
Abstract: A device for filling and suction of filter plates in a microtitration plate format which is comprised of a simultaneously working multipipette, two stacking elements, a plate transfer car with a suction station, four lifting drives, and an electric plate holder. The plates emanating from the dispensing stacking elements are filled by the pipettes or the pipette automatic machine and can be deposited on the suction station afterwards with the aid of the plate holder and the lifter. The plates are then lifted together with the weight such that the plate is sufficiently pressed hard on the seal in the suction station. As a result, a corresponding low pressure can be generated in the vacuum station.

  • Patent number: 6226581
Abstract: Device and method which to control movement quantities representing the movement of the vehicle. The device contains first arrangement for detecting quantities representing the movement of the vehicle. The device has at least two control devices which implement, independently of one another, control actions to stabilize the vehicle with the help of suitable actuators on the basis of quantities detected with the help of the first arrangement. At least one of the control devices influences the steering of the vehicle. Furthermore, at least one of the control devices influences the brakes and/or the engine of the vehicle, and/or an additional control device influences the chassis actuators. In addition, the device has a second arrangement with which signals and/or quantities are determined on the basis of the quantities detected with the first arrangement and used to influence at least temporarily at least one of the minimum of two control devices, so that the vehicle is thereby stabilized.

  • Patent number: 6226579
Abstract: A steering system for a motor vehicle with at least one steerable wheel, an actuator, and an auxiliary drive. The steering motion initiated by the driver of the vehicle and the motion initiated by the actuator are superimposed by the auxiliary drive to generate the steering motion of the steerable wheel. At least two steering components are computed and a control signal is generated to control the actuator by superimposing the computed steering components. The steering components are computed in parallel and independently of one another so that several functions are beneficially combined to control running behavior. This provides an improvement of running dynamics by means of steering interventions.
