  • Publication number: 20220349492
Abstract: A positioner drive for controlling a valve positioner with pneumatic output is configured to be mechanically coupled to a valve of the valve positioner with pneumatic output for controlling the valve positioner with pneumatic output.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 29, 2022
    Publication date: November 3, 2022
    Applicant: ABB Schweiz AG
Inventors: Sebastian Breisch, Arda Tueysuez, Stefan Tabelander, Wolfgang Lasarzik, Matthias Bringemeier, Karsten Schroeder
  • Patent number: 8000816
Abstract: The invention relates to a process control system having measuring devices and actuators. All of the measuring devices and actuators process information and exchange data amongst themselves. All measuring devices and actuators are interconnected to enable a bi-directional data exchange. Several, or all of the measuring devices and actuators can exchange data with a service unit that can be connected to the devices and actuators. The invention also relates to a method for operating a process control system of this type.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 28, 2004
Date of Patent: August 16, 2011
    Assignee: ABB Research Ltd
Inventors: Raiko Milanovic, Rolf Merte, Armin Gasch, Thomas Karte, Andreas Stelter, Wolfgang Lasarzik
  • Patent number: 7925386
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a control device for a pneumatically operated actuator in the field of process automation, in particular for continuous control of material flows in the industrial environment. The control device has a communications interface for receiving an electrical setpoint value, and an output for the output of a pneumatic fluid, whose pressure is varied as a function of a control deviation. The received electrical setpoint value is suitable as a process parameter. The control device is connected via a communications channel to an actual-value encoder, which is designed to output an electrical signal corresponding to the actual value of the same process parameter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 13, 2007
Date of Patent: April 12, 2011
    Assignee: ABB AG
Inventors: Peter Krippner, Thomas Kleegrewe, Armin Gasch, Detlef Pape, Wolfgang Lasarzik, Wolfgang Scholz, Urs E. Meier
  • Publication number: 20100140274
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a field housing for enclosing electrical equipment in installations where there is an explosion hazard. To avoid ignition sparks passing between the inside and the outside of the field housing, the field housing can include a housing cup of a cuboidal shape with a rectangle opening with rounded corners which can be closed with a housing cover. A periphery of the opening can be widened into a surrounding sleeve, and the housing cover can include a peripheral collar of a form and size matching the opening in the housing cup such that a flameproof joint is formed between the collar of the housing cover and the sleeve of the housing cup.
