  • Patent number: 6889616
Abstract: A track support for the track of a magnetic levitation railway consists of a steel support having a closed hollow trapezoidal or hollow triangular cross section with closed end faces, whose cover plate projects, in the manner of a jib, with its longitudinal edge sections over the side wall web plates, and at the end of which cover plate a side guidance rail is arranged in each case. In order to keep the surfaces of the track support that are exposed to environmental influences as small as possible, a stator support web plate is arranged on the underside of each jib, between the ground-side end section of which plate and the adjacent side wall web plate and the adjacent side guidance rail horizontal plates are arranged, forming closed cavities, where two parallel web flanges between which the grooved cross members are screwed are provided per jib on the underside of the plates.

  • Patent number: 6327129
Abstract: A surge protector assembly may be provided with three terminals, a gas discharge tube having a first conductive end and a second conductive end opposite the first conductive end, a pair of metal oxide varistors conductively connected to the ends of the gas discharge tube, and a pair of bracket arms associated with the ends of the gas discharge tube. The bracket arms are movable between a steady-state position in which they cause the first and second terminals to be conductively separated from the third terminal and a shorting position in which they cause the first and second terminals to be conductively connected to the third terminal. The bracket arms are spaced from the ends of the gas discharge tube by a first distance when they are in their steady-state positions and by a second distance when they are in their shorting positions, with the first distance being greater than the second distance, and the bracket arms are spring-biased towards their shorting positions.

  • Patent number: 5500782
Abstract: A protector arrangement is disclosed having first and second protector terminals, a gas discharge tube, and a metal oxide varistor. The gas discharge tube is connected to the first and second protector terminals. The metal oxide varistor is connected to the first and second protector terminals so that the metal oxide varistor acts as a backup to the gas discharge tube and so that the first and second protector terminals are automatically shorted in response to a thermal overload condition. The protector arrangement may be mounted in a weathertight housing.

  • Patent number: 5205505
Abstract: For the production of cigarettes packages consisting of several components, e.g. soft packages of hinge-lid packages, tin foil and paper or cardboard are processed in packaging machine as various packaging materials. The packaging material is supplied in the form of bobbins (tin foil bobbins 13, paper bobbins 14). The packaging machine is equipped with two bobbin storages (23, 24) for the reception of tin foil bobbins (13) or paper bobbins (14). The bobbin storages (23, 24) are supplied with the various bobbins (13, 14) by a common supplier, i.e. a floor-mounted supplier (15). The various bobbins (13, 14) are removed from the bobbin storages (23, 24) by means of a transversal supplier (transport cog 51) and conveyed to a common downward-delivering bobbin supplier (5) which transports the bobbins to superpositioned bobbin-processing assemblies (42, 43) in which the packaging material is process, i.e. withdrawn from the bobbins.

  • Patent number: 5121585
Abstract: Cigarette packs (20) are often provided with a (tax) label (26) which extends across an end face (23) and adjoining pack faces. The process of attaching the label (26) has to be integrated into the complex flow of production. For this purpose, the label (26) is held ready in front of a mouthpiece opening (inserting opening 32) in a transverse plane, such that the label is folded round the pack (20) in a U-shaped manner when the pack passes through the mouthpiece opening. The packs (20) are transported in tight arrangement, such that the end face (23) of one pack (20) abuts the bottom (35) face of another pack (20) being in front. The label (26) is thus "clamped" between two adjacent packs (20) and therewith additonally fixed in position.

  • Patent number: 4852335
Abstract: Apparatus for producing packs from at least one foldable blank, especially soft-cup cigarette packs, in which, in a transfer station, individual blanks can be fed by means of a feed unit with a blank-holder to a receptacle (hollow mandrel) of a folding turret and can be transported by this in order to make folds, each blank (21, 22) for taking up by a receptacle (hollow mandrel 23) of the folding turret (20) is held so as to project freely on one side by the blank-holder (holding disc 68) fixed in place and arranged outside the path of movement of the receptacles (23).

  • Patent number: 4838846
Abstract: In the production of cigarette packs, especially soft-cup packs 11, folding tabs have to be provided with glue marks 15. To make accurate glue marks 15 even on packaging machines operating at a high working speed, a glue unit 16 is arranged on the periphery of the folding turret 35 in such a way that glue faces 32 of the glue-coating member 21 having glue wings 22, 23 come up against a side-wall tab 13 to be provided with glue marks 15, this at the same time being deformed elastically. As result of the relative movement, the glue wing 22, 23 is rolled on the side-wall tab 13 by means of the glue face 32, thus producing an accurate glue pattern.
