  • Patent number: 7367265
Abstract: A packing or dressing is mounted on a cylinder of a rotary printing press. A dressing suspension leg, situated at an end of the dressing extending in the production direction of rotation of the cylinder, is positioned in an opening in the surface of the cylinder. That suspension leg is retained in the cylinder opening predominantly by its own weight.

  • Patent number: 7322290
Abstract: A printing press has several plate cylinders on which printing plates can be placed and from which they can be removed. Changing of these printing plates is accomplished by remote control through the use of a central controller which is associated with the printing press. The central controller is in control of all of the units which are involved in the changing of the printing press. At least one printing plate on at least one of the plate cylinders can be changed while the press is in operation.

  • Patent number: 6941866
Abstract: A mechanism is used for mounting a dressing on a cylinder of a printing press. The mechanism is fitted with at least one stop which is effective in an axial direction of the cylinder. The stop allows the cylinder dressing to be arranged on the cylinder with pressure in the axial direction. The stop is situated outside of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6732646
Abstract: An ink pump for a punp inking unit of a rotary printing press utilizes a two piece coupling between the ink pump and an ink pump drive unit. The ink pump is part of a replaceable inking unit while the ink pump drive unit is supported in the frame of the press. The two piece coupling operatively connects the ink pump and the ink pump drive unit. Each piece of the coupling is a permanent magnet. These engage in a non-positive fit to provide a robust coupling.

  • Publication number: 20030010237
Abstract: The invention relates to an ink pump (14) for a pump inking unit (1) of a rotary printing press. A two-piece coupling is provided between a pump drive (23) which is situated in a traversing component and a transportable ink discharge unit (3) which is situated on the traversing component. Each piece of the coupling consists of a permanent magnet (28, 33) which is connected to the pump drive or the ink pump respectively. The permanent magnets engage in a non-positive fit. A robust coupling is thus provided.
