Abstract: The present invention relates to processing aids for the processing of synthetic polymer compositions based on carboxylic esters, where the processing aids include, partial esters which contain at least 18 carbon atoms, have a number-average molecular weight of from 300 to 10,000, and can be prepared by the reaction of saturated or unsaturated aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic polycarboxylic acids or anhydrides of these with saturated or unsaturated aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and/or aromatic monoepoxides and/or monoalcohols optionally containing ether groups, where at least 10% and not more than 90% of the carboxyl groups of the polycarboxylic acids have been reacted and the polycarboxylic acids and anhydrides of these contain from 8 to 100 carbon atoms. The invention further relates to the use of these processing aids in synthetic polymer compositions, and also to synthetic polymer compositions, which comprise these processing aids.

Abstract: The present invention relates to dispersing agents for pigments or extenders based on acrylic acid alkyl ester polymers, wherein at least part of the ester groups of the polymers is reacted to form acid amides, wherein the dispersing agent is obtainable by the aminolysis of ester groups of the polymers by means of amines, wherein, for the aminolysis, at least one amine is used from the group comprising a) amines of general formula NH2—R1—NR2R3, wherein R1 is a divalent alkylene radical comprising 2-4 carbon atoms and R2 and R3 are aliphatic and/or alicyclic alkyl radicals which comprise 1-12, preferably 1-6 carbon atoms and which can be the same or different. The invention also relates to the use of the dispersing agents according to the invention for the production of pigment concentrates and coating media, and to a process for producing the dispersing agents.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispersing agent for pigments or extenders which is obtainable by salt formation from an amine-functional compound by means of an acid,wherein a polyamine which contains at least three amino groups and which is from the group comprising aliphatic linear polyamines and/or aliphatic branched polyamines and/or modified polyamines, with the proviso that after modification three amino groups which can be converted into salts are still present per molecule, or a mixture of polyamines such as these, is used as the amine-functional compound, andwherein a substance from the group comprising phosphoric acid esters of general formula: (HO).sub.3-n PO(OR.sup.1).sub.n where n=1 or 2, sulphonic acids of general formula HOSO.sub.2 R.sup.2 and acidic sulphuric acid esters of general formula HOSO.sub.3 R.sup.2 is used as the acid, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.

Abstract: Phosphoric acid esters and their salts corresponding to the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R represents an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and/or aromatic moiety having no Zerewitinoff hydrogen, containing at least one ether oxygen atom (--O--) and at least one carboxylic acid ester group (--COO--) and/or urethene group (--NAOO--), and having an average molecular weight M.sub.n of 200 to 10,000, wherein the hydrogen atoms may be partially replaced by halogen atoms, and wherein the ratio of the number of ether oxygen atoms to the number of carboxylic acid ester groups and/or urethane groups in the molecule (or in every group R) is in the range from 1:20 to 20:1, and n represents 1 or 2. A method for preparing such phosphoric acid esters and salts and the use of such phosphoric acid esters or salts as dispersants or dispersing aids is also disclosed.

Abstract: Addition compounds suitable for use as dispersing agents and obtainable by reacting polyisocyanates having an average functionality of 2.5 to 10 with monohydroxy compounds, with compounds of formula IIG-(E).sub.n IIwherein E represents --OH, --NH.sub.2 and/or --NHR (wherein R represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms) and n represents 2 or 3 and G represents an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and/or aromatic group, and with compounds of formula IIIZ-Q IIIwherein Q represents --OH, --NH.sub.2, --NHR (wherein R represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms) or --SH and Z denotes a group containing at least one nitrogen-containing, basic group. The invention also relates to processes for the preparation of these addition compounds, to their use and to pulverulent or fibrous solids which are to be incorporated into liquid systems and which have been coated with these dispersing agents.
