This creamy bleaching agent suspension contains less than 2.5% by weight water and a mixture of at least one inorganic persalt, at least one alkaline reacting salt, from 0.5 to 20 percent by weight of a thickening substance, which consists essentially of an acrylic acid polymer and one or more cellulose, alginate and/or polysaccharide polymers, and from 26.5 to 35 percent by weight of at least one oil or wax, and, as needed, one or more cosmetic additive ingredient. From 0.1 to 3 percent by weight of the acrylic acid polymer must be present in the composition.

    Abstract: The composition for the oxidative dyeing of hair contains at least one coupler of the general formula ##STR1## where R is a straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 - to C.sub.4 -alkyl group, X is chlorine or fluorine, and R.sup.1 is a straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 - to C.sub.4 -alkyl group or a straight-chain or branched C.sub.2 - to C.sub.4 -hydroxyalkyl group. The 5-halogen-2,4-bis(alkylamino)-1-alkylbenzenes of the formula (I) are novel. The couplers of the general formula (I) may be obtained through simple chemical reactions, are easily soluble in water and have an outstanding shelf stability, in particular as a constituent of the hair dye composition described here. The dyeing results which can be achieved with the hair dye composition according to the invention are particularly distinguished by the color intensity of the red hues, in addition to the multitude of shades, and by a good purity of color with respect to blue hues.

    Abstract: A preparation for use in a hair bleaching composition consists of 30 to 65% by weight of a persulfate granulate having granule diameters from 0.1 to 0.6 cm and at least one other granulated substance including 15 to 45% by weight of granulated alkaline reacting alkali metal salts. The other granulated substance also has particle diameters from about 0.1 to 0.6 cm. It can also contain 0.1 to 3% by weight of a chelating agent, 0.1 to 15% by weight of an anionic, cationic or nonionic surfactant and a water-soluble thickener. The two component composition contains an aqueous solution which is 4 to 18% by weight hydrogen peroxide and the preparation containing the granulated persulfate. Prior to application on the hair the hydrogen peroxide solution is mixed with the preparation.

    Abstract: The process for bleaching hair using light includes first, applying a sufficient quantity of a composition containing at least one optical photosensitizer and a compound capable of providing a hydrogen radical to strands of the hair to be bleached and allowing the composition to act for up to 60 minutes on those strands; then, irradiating them with light of a wavelength or wavelengths selected from visible and ultraviolet wavelength ranges capable of activating the at least one optical photosensitizer and having an intensity sufficient for bleaching them, and subsequently rinsing and drying the bleached hair. This process does not require excess hydrogen peroxide and is thus particularly gentle to the hair.
