  • Patent number: 9796173
Abstract: A device for printing on hollow bodies has a plurality of printing units each having a printing cylinder. At least one of the printing units has an inking unit having a chambered doctor blade that provides printing ink. The chambered doctor blade system has at least one ink pan and a doctor blade holder in a single assembly. The single assembly of the chambered doctor blade system is retained in the inking unit only on one side. The assembly of the chambered doctor blade system forms a cantilever arm on a side frame of the inking unit. The assembly of the chambered doctor blade system can be moved axially parallel to the anilox roller and can be removed from the inking unit by that movement.

  • Publication number: 20170197403
Abstract: A printing unit has a printing forme cylinder. A plate changer is arranged in a manner which is allocated to the printing forme cylinder. The plate changer has a bearing surface on which a printing forme, which is arranged or is to be arranged on the printing forme cylinder, can be laid. That bearing surface is arranged such that it can be moved to and fro between at least two defined positions longitudinally with respect to the rotational axis of the printing forme cylinder. The printing forme is arranged and registered on the bearing surface of the plate changer. At least two edges of a carrier for the relevant printing forme, which are arranged at a right angle with respect to each other, are brought into physical contact with register pins which are arranged on the bearing surface of the plate changer.

  • Publication number: 20170197404
Abstract: An inking unit of a printing unit and a device for printing on hollow bodies each have a cylindrical lateral surface. The device comprises the inking unit. The inking unit has an anilox roller which receives a printing ink from an ink reservoir and has an inking roller placed against a printing cylinder of the printing unit. A rider roller is arranged axially parallel to the anilox roller in a region between the ink reservoir and the inking roller, that region being located subsequent to the ink reservoir in a direction of rotation of the anilox roller. The ink reservoir interacts with the anilox roller. The rider roller is placed against the anilox roller. The rider roller is rotationally driven by the anilox roller by friction. The inking roller is rotationally driven by the anilox roller by friction. The plate cylinder and the anilox roller are each independently rotationally driven by a motor.

  • Publication number: 20080041258
Abstract: Transfer of printing ink is adjusted using a first roller in an inking unit of a printing machine, which transfers ink to a forme cylinder. A temperature control unit enables an outer surface of the first roller to reach a required temperature and/or to enable an outer surface of the forme cylinder to reach the required temperature. That temperature control unit can be either controlled or regulated by an adjusting device. Specific curves or reference points for an interrelationship between a production speed of a printing machine and the respective required temperature on the outer surface of the forme cylinder, or on the outer surface of the first roller are stored in a storage unit of the adjusting device for various printing inks or ink types.

  • Publication number: 20080011171
Abstract: An adjustment of a transfer of printing ink is accomplished by arranging a first roller in an inker unit and by using that first roller to transfer ink to a forme cylinder. A temperature is adjusted on an outer surface of the first roller by the use of a first temperature control unit which includes an adjuster device. The adjuster device also adjusts a temperature to be set on an outer surface of the forme cylinder by the use of a second temperature control unit. These two temperature control units adjust parameters of the printing ink through the controls of the outer surfaces of their associated first roller and forme cylinders. The parameters of the printing ink which are adjusted are preferably the ink's tackiness and its viscosity.

  • Publication number: 20050223924
Abstract: A pressure force exerted by first and second cylinders upon at least a third cylinder in a printing machine is regulated by a pressure regulating device. The device can also be using for moving a first cylinder and at least one second cylinder into and out of contact with a third cylinder. Actuators, which exert a radial force on a cylinder cooperating with the actuators, are provided. An aperture angle between the radial forces exerted by two actuators on the same cylinder is the same in both cylinders. That aperture angle is independent of an aperture angle formed by the pressure force exerted by the first and second cylinders on the third cylinder.
