  • Patent number: 9429100
Abstract: A cooling duct piston (1) for combustion engines. The cooling duct piston has a piston basic body (2) that is connected to a lining part (3), which is facing an assigned combustion chamber. Here, the lining part (3) completely forms the piston surface (4) of the cooling duct piston (1) that faces the combustion chamber. An encircling depression (5) is provided in the surface of the piston basic body (2) facing the combustion chamber. The lining part (3) provides a permanent connection at least with the surface of the piston basic body (2) facing the combustion chamber, and thus bridges the encircling depression (5), such that the encircling depression (5), with the lining part (3) that bridges it, forms a cooling duct (6).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for Doppler light detection and ranging (LIDAR) measurement of speeds. A laser beam is directed at the medium to be measured, and radiation which is then emitted by the medium is measured by a detector. In order to allow better control of the dynamic range of a direct reception Doppler LIDAR apparatus, a multiplicity of laser pulses can be transmitted per measurement, and a multiplicity of laser pulses can be received by the detector per measurement. A direct reception Doppler LIDAR apparatus can be suitable for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 7123394
Abstract: A system for the laser beam deflection for optical measuring systems includes an optical element for the deflection of an incident laser beam and a driving unit for generating a rotational movement between the optical element and the incident laser beam in order to deflect the laser beam in different successive directions. The optical element includes at least two segments for the deflection of the incident laser beam by one fixed deflection angle respectively. During the rotational movement, the laser beam successively impinges on the different segments. The optical element has a disk-shaped or ring-shaped design, and the segments are wedge-shaped with inclined surfaces. In the case of a method for the laser beam deflection, a laser beam impinging in an offset manner with respect to the axis of rotation is deflected during a time period by each segment into precisely one defined direction.
