  • Patent number: 9932136
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pouch and a method for making the same. In the inventive method, which is adapted to produce pouches having a limited amount of fusible material, a heat-sealable cord is arranged on a web forming confronting side surface of each pouch. Those confronting side surfaces are fused by heating the heat-sealable cord. The present invention furthermore provides a pouch, in particular containing a brewable or extractable commodity such as tea, with a pocket defined between confronting side surfaces of a web. The pouch of the present invention can have a limited amount of fusible material as the confronting side surfaces are joined by solidified melt of a heat-sealable cord arranged in vicinity of at least one edge of the pouch.

  • Publication number: 20050221179
Abstract: A mixed nickel hydroxide cathode material for use in alkaline storage batteries and having a bimodal particle size distribution includes a main population of particles and a secondary population of particles. The main population has a median mass-based particle size distribution value, derived from laser particle analyses, of between 5 ?m and 25 ?m. The secondary population has a median mass-based particle size distribution value, derived from laser particle analyses, of between 0.3 ?m and 3 ?m. The main population is present in the mixed nickel hydroxide cathode material in a proportion of between 70% and 96% by mass.

  • Patent number: 6504488
Abstract: In an electronic device having a housing containing electronic components and a front part connected to the housing and having control elements, the connections between the electronic components and the control elements are made using a first transmitter and a second receiver on the front part respectively aligned with a second receiver and a second transmitter on the housing. This arrangement obviates the need for mechanical connections which are susceptible to faults between the housing and the front part.

  • Publication number: 20020005101
Abstract: This invention relates to a system for the continuous separation of strings of material, subdivided into individual string subsections or pockets by transverse perforations, especially in the context of the production of tea filter bags, incorporating a continuously rotating wheel (1) and, beside the wheel (1), grippers (3) which are tiltable relative to the wheel (1) and serve to grasp the longitudinal sides of a string subsection to be separated from the string at a predefined point near the perforation, said string subsection permitting separation by means of the relative movement between the grippers (3) and the wheel (1).

  • Patent number: 4993630
Abstract: System for tempering spaces of a building with ceiling or wall constructions of metal or nonmetallic parts which are fastened to the supporting or nonsupporting wall or ceiling of spaces, in which by a heat transport medium conducted through the ceiling or wall construction the parts of the construction facing the interior space of the building are tempered. On at least one pipeline (1) conducting the heat transport medium there are arranged several heat transfer profiles (2), heating conducting, preferably with clamping effect, metallically conducting or in one piece, the effective radiation and convection surface of which is greater than the wall or ceiling surface covered by the system.

  • Patent number: 4683941
Abstract: System for controlling the temperature of rooms of a building by frame elements consisting of metal uprights and cross-beams, for example for building openings, such as windows and doors, in which with fluid conducted in a pipe line (1) running through the hollow interior space of the uprights and cross-beams, the faces facing the interior of the building of the frame elements are controlled in temperature by indirect heat transfer. The indirect heat transfer occurs between the pipe lines (1) and the heat transfer profiles (5) formed by the frame elements by engagement of the pipe line (1) on heat conducting contact surfaces (6) which are connected in one piece over crosspieces (7) for heat conduction with the heat transfer profile (5).

  • Patent number: 4667947
Abstract: A sheet feed device for a printer or typewriter having a plurality of cassettes supporting stacks of sheets to be printed, a sheet removal mechanism associated with each cassette for removing a sheet from the cassette and positively driving the removed sheet to a position for feeding it into the printer, and a selection mechanism for actuating a selected one of the sheet removal mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4637601
Abstract: The cassette comprises a bottom (25) and four side walls (26 to 29) comprising on their upper edge holding elements (14) for the sheets. These sheets are placed on a support plate (41) held near one of the corners (33) in contact with the bottom (25). Three springs (44 to 46) pull the plate (41) in the direction of the holding elements (14). A locking mechanism (50) consists of a sliding part (51) comprising near its ends two openings (54) able to work with two flathead pins (52) solid with the plate (41) to hold the latter against the bottom (25) in the vicinity either of the corner (31), or of the diametrically opposite corner (32). The same cassette can thus be introduced in the lengthwise or widthwise direction, which makes possible a saving in cassettes and in sheets.

  • Patent number: 4594013
Abstract: The sheet feed device (1) comprises several cassettes (13) on which the sheets are stacked, a removal mechanism associated with each of the supports, intended to remove a sheet from the cassette (13) and introduce it into the printer (2), and a selection mechanism (55) intended to activate one of the removal mechanisms. The mechanisms for removal and selection (55) are driven by the platen (3) of the printer (2). The selection mechanism (55) makes use of the position occupied by the mobile carriage (4). The latter carries a drive part (61) that can work with a set of selection levers (56). These levers (56) are equal in number to the removal mechanism. Depending on the position of the carriage during selection, one or the other of the levers (56) is put into active position and moved by a drive wheel (65) to activate a removal control element (76) and to start the removal and introduction processes.

This selection mechanism consists of a guide part (72) comprising several tracks (73 to 75) and a selection lever (56) made to engage with the top of guide part (72). When the platen (3) of the printer (2) turns in the direction opposite the direction of introduction of the paper, the selection lever (56) is driven in the same direction. After a rotation of a predetermined angle, greater than two turns of the platen, the direction of rotation is reversed. The lever (56) follows one of the tracks (73 to 75) to activate one of the removal control parts (76 to 78) and to start the removal and introduction process.
