  • Publication number: 20140236165
Abstract: When processing bone tissue, the work site is often out of alignment with the insertion path of a tool device. A tool device (1) is provided with an endoscope (2), through the working channel (2.1) of which a guiding part (3) and a tool part (5) guided in this can be moved with their distal ends to a distal working area. The tool part (5) has a tool shaft (5.1) with a rotating tool (5.3). In the tool device there is a secure connection between the endoscope and the guiding part, during the task, and, this connection can be established in a simple manner prior to the beginning of the task and it can also be released again in a simple manner after the task ends. The guiding part (3) is able to be connected rigidly with the endoscope (2) axially.

  • Patent number: 8449546
Abstract: A cutter for spine surgery is provided, especially for use in the area of the delicate cervical spine. The cutter includes a cylindrical cutter shank with cutter teeth formed at the distal end thereof. The cutter teeth at the distal end of the cutter shank are formed by grooves in the wall of the cutter shank. The grooves become deeper and expand from the outer radius of the cutter shank towards the distal end such that teeth narrowing towards the distal end with increasing height are formed between them. This guarantees especially gentle cutting in the area of the cervical spine, without surrounding delicate tissue being additionally jeopardized.

  • Patent number: 8267937
Abstract: A method for manufacturing bone milling cutters, wherein a milling cutter toothing (12) is created at a distal face of a tubular milling cutter shaft (10) of a bone milling cutter at a given outer diameter (D) of the milling cutter shaft (10). The following steps are carried out: determining the tube circumference (U) of the milling cutter shaft (10); ascertaining an average desired tooth height (Hgew) of the milling cutter toothing (12); ascertaining the desired tooth period length (LZ?) of the milling cutter toothing from the desired tooth height (Hgew) at given parameters of a tooth period pattern; dividing the tube circumference (U) by the desired tooth period length (LZ); rounding the results to an even number value (Qz); and dividing the tube circumference (U) by the value (Qz) in order to obtain the tooth period length (LZ).

  • Patent number: 8267406
Abstract: A retaining ring for a seal ring of a mechanical seal assembly comprises a recess (8) inserted at the side of one of its axial ends for a sealing receipt and force-fit assembly of the seal ring (2). In the recess (8), an engaging ring (10) made of a flexible material and having a corrugated profile at its inner periphery is retained, wherein at least the elevations (15) of the corrugated profile may be brought in a force-fit engagement with the outer periphery of the seal ring, when the seal ring is moved into the engaging ring by an external mounting force. Each elevation has a leading flange in direction (P) of the mounting movement having a inclination angle ?2 larger than ?1 of a lagging flange (18).
