  • Publication number: 20220042777
Abstract: The invention relates to programmable practice ammunition. For this purpose, a projectile head of a practice projectile of the practice ammunition has at least one electronic system in the form of an electronic fuze replacement system and a signal transmitter. Optionally, an explosive charge can be introduced into the projectile head. The explosive charge is preferably a pyrotechnic. A light signal, an infrared signal, a radio signal, or another suitable electronic or optical signal, even a color signal, can be output and transmitted via the signal transmitter. Optionally, the explosive charge can be triggered and deployed via the signal transmitter. The projectile is provided with radial openings for this purpose. The invention additionally relates to a training system for a realistic practice using an explosive representation at the target or in the target area.

  • Publication number: 20220026186
Abstract: The invention relates to a test and/or practice ammunition having at least one projectile with a projectile head and a fin which can be found at the end of the projectile for example or a projectile with a projectile base and a projectile ogive. A cartridge shell is used to receive a drive and has a shell base, wherein an interface is attached in or on the shell base. The test and/or practice ammunition is characterized by a programmable fuze which is arranged in the projectile head or the projectile ogive. The projectile head/projectile ogive is equipped with at least one fuze amplifier and an electronic fuze system and optionally a separating charge.

  • Patent number: 8297189
Abstract: The invention relates to so-called fuze damping in projectiles, in particular, those provided with a built-in firing delay. Thus, a projectile (1) is provided having a rear part (1a) and a fuze (2), wherein at least one damping element (7) is inserted between a fuze base (5) and the projectile (1) and/or between a fuze shoulder (6) and a possible threaded ring (4), or similar attachment element. The damping element (7) is in the form of a disc, ring or pot, and is composed of a material with a lower acoustic impedance than the material of the projectile (1).

  • Patent number: 7150228
Abstract: A gas pressure switch is provided for an ignition and safety system for ammunition. The switch includes a housing; a piston actuator within the housing, the piston actuator being displaceable from an idle position to a contacting position by propellant gases of the ammunition during use; at least two contact pins that are attached immovably to the housing; a contacting device operatively associated with the piston actuator and located on a first side of the piston actuator, the first side being opposite a second side on which the propellant gases act during use, the contacting device connecting electrically to the contact pins when the piston actuator is in the contacting position; and a locking pin which holds the piston actuator in the idle position until a predetermined gas pressure is reached and which shears off when the predetermined gas pressure is reached, so that the piston actuator can be displaced into the contacting position.

  • Patent number: 6332403
Abstract: An ammunition cartridge with electric propellant ignition includes a combustible case having a length dimension, a rearward end closed by a metal case bottom and a front end; a combustible propellant powder contained in the case; and an electrically insulated high-voltage electrode passing through the case bottom into the case. The electrode has an outer end situated externally of the case and is connectable to a current source and an inner end situated within the case. A current distributor is situated within the case and is electrically connected to the inner end of the electrode. At least three conductor wires are electrically connected to the current distributor and extend at least partially parallel to the length dimension within the case through the propellant powder. An electric contact arrangement is situated within the case in the front end thereof and is secured to the case.
