  • Patent number: 6698329
Abstract: A method for replacing a fuse casing (4), which is riveted to the casing (2) of an active component (1) containing an explosive charge (3). The new fuse casing (4) laser-welded to the remaining rivet parts (5) of the active component casing (2). Welding filler materials are used to attach the new fuse casing (4) easily and securely to the active component casing (2), such that the connection can withstand even high firing accelerations, without this resulting in impermissibly high thermal stress to the explosive charge (3) in the active component. Welding powders (7) or welding pastes can be used as welding filler materials, which are inserted into gaps (8) remaining between the remaining rivet parts (5) and the bores (6) in the fuse casing (4) before the remaining rivet parts (5) are welded to the fuse casing (4). Also used are discs (9) that cover the bore holes (6) in the fuse casing (4). The disks are placed onto the frontal faces of the remaining rivet parts (5) and are welded to these.

  • Patent number: 6652782
Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-stage method for producing gas-filled microcapsules. In one stage of the method, the substance that forms the coat is polymerized. The microcapsules are formed in a physically and/or temporally separate stage, by means of a structuring process. The polymerization is carried out with moderate stirring, while the microcapsules are structured in dispersing conditions.

  • Patent number: 6638007
Abstract: A compressor casing with a volute-shaped flow duct is fastened by means of a rigid fixing arrangement to the bearing casing of the turbomachine, with simple and low-cost means in such a way that the emergence of fragments of a burst compressor impeller from the compressor casing can be prevented. The compressor casing has an outer spiral casing, which surrounds a duct section of the flow duct deflected towards the outside into the radial direction (B), and an inner casing insert piece, which is provided in the radial direction (B) between the spiral casing and the compressor impeller and whose inner contour, together with the outer contour of the hub of the compressor impeller, forms the duct section of the flow duct extending essentially in the axial direction (A).

  • Patent number: 6553789
Abstract: A method produces homogenous quartz glass plates without streaks. The method is applied to starting quartz glass body which has an X—X geometrical axis and good refractive index homogeneity in its central area, and a refractive index homogeneity decreasing as the axis lies further from a central area. The body is divided into at least two concave parts by longitudinal cuts parallel to the axis once the central area has been processed out of the body. The parts are placed separately in corresponding molds and heated therein such that they are molded to form quartz glass plates having a desired thickness.
