  • Patent number: 6976285
Abstract: The invention relates to a four-hinged wiper arm for a windshield wiper system, especially for an automobile wherein a connecting rod is pivotally connected to a driving arm in a first bearing point and to a control arm in a second bearing point. A hinged part is coupled to the connecting rod. A wiper blade that can be placed on the hinged part or on a wiper rod connected to the hinged part can be pressed against the windshield to be wiped by a spring element that is mounted on the four-hinged wiper arm. In order to ensure good wiping quality and low-noise operation over a long service period, the invention provides that the connecting rod or the driving arm or the control arm is fitted with an antifriction bearing at least one of the two locating points of the four hinged wiper arm. According to advantageous embodiments of the invention, the four-hinged wiper arm is fitted with an antifriction bearing on both bearing points, whereby the antifriction bearing is preferably a deep groove ball bearing.

  • Patent number: 6119302
Abstract: A wiper squeegee is mounted in the holding claws of a support frame. The capability of the wiper squeegee to shift in the longitudinal direction is limited by a fixed first stop on a first end of the support frame and a second stop which can move between a holding position and a release position on a second end of the support frame. An end piece on which the second stop is mounted is fastened on the second end of the support frame so that the end piece can rotate around a geometric axis which runs at least approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction of the wiper squeegee. This end piece can be locked, at least in the holding position.

  • Patent number: 6065180
Abstract: A connection between a wiper arm and the bracket of a wiper blade that is easy to manipulate during wiper blade changes but nevertheless is a secure rotatable connection, for a wiper blade in which a connector is provided on the wiper arm or the wiper rod, is achieved as follows; the connector has a through-hole with inside thread; the through-hole is placed concentrically to a geometric axis running transversely; a screw serving as the hinge pin is screwed into the through-hole, and in this way a releasable frictional engagement between the screw and the connector is created. The screw is fitted on its opposite ends with cylindrical bearing segments which protrude laterally out of the through-hole of the connector and are mounted rotatably in the respective bearing holes in the side walls of he connecting segment of the wiper blade bracket.
