    Abstract: Epoxide resin foams are manufactured by curing a mixture which contains an epoxide resin, a blowing agent, a surface-active agent and the tetraglycidyl ester of cyclohexanone- or methylcyclohexanone-2,2,6,6-tetrapropionic acid, with a Lewis acid or an addition compound or complex compound of a Lewis acid. The foams obtained show a homogeneous pore structure and no tendency to crack formation, and are heat-stable and largely light-fast. They can be employed in sandwich constructions, as insulating materials against heat and cold, sound and mechanical impact, and in the electrical industry.
