    Abstract: A window assembly for a motor vehicle includes a sheet and a sealing element for a fixed window to be secured to the edge portion of a section of the vehicle body. The sealing element features a bonding portion, which is bonded to the inside of the sheet, and includes a sealing lip projecting from the bonding portion, which can be brought into contact with the edge portion of the vehicle body section. To facilitate repainting of the edge portion of the vehicle body section the sealing lip, over its length, features at least a first and second layer, which are arranged one over the other and are tightly bonded to one another. The first layer forms an external surface layer and exhibits a higher temperature resistance than the second layer.
