  • Patent number: 8801672
Abstract: At the pivotable needle protector (1) according to the invention, the needle (2) is enveloped by a protective tube (3) with a slit on the side and pivotable around a hinge (5), the hinge (5) of the protective tube (3) is connected to an appendix (4) fixed on the part of the needle (2) toward the syringe, in the inside of the protective tube (3) there are valve elements (6) on both sides farthering from the slit (7), functioning as check valve regarding the movement of the needle (2). The solution is characterized by that, before the check valve at least one more valve is formed in the protective tube (3) in direct connection with the needle (2) when moving, preventing only the two-way movement of the needle (2) with the help of one or more flexible valve membranes (8) protruding from the wall of the protective tube (3).

  • Patent number: 8246526
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel covering layer for electrophotographic printing rollers with improved scratch resistance. Said covering layer consists of between 50 and 75 wt. % of cycloaliphatic epoxides, between 20 and 60 wt. % of aminofunctional silica nanoparticles, and between 0 and 2 wt. % of perfluoroalkyltrialkoxysilanes. The aminofunctional nanoparticles are produced from aminoalkyltrialkoxysilanes preferably by means of sol/gel technology.

  • Publication number: 20120046616
Abstract: The subject of the invention is a pivotable needle protector serving as a protector against injuries while using hypodermic needles. • Patent number: 6357305
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for sampling disperse material flows in which an analysis substream is extracted from a process mainstream for subsequent analysis. According to the invention, the analysis substream is removed from the process mainstream via an extraction area. The extraction area is smaller than the process substream cross section and defined independently of this. The extraction area travels along an orbital curve across the process mainstream cross section during the removal of the analysis substream. The invention also relates to an apparatus for performing the process according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 5455675
Abstract: Apparatus for determination of particle sizes and/or distributions of particle sizes comprises a light source which radiates parallel light of high coherence through a measuring zone (14) in which the particles to be measured are disposed. The light beam diffracted at the particles is imaged by an imaging device (18) onto a photo-detector (20) which is coupled to an evaluating unit (22). The imaging device (18) is provided with several different focal lengths which can be selectably brought into the beam path of the overall device. At the start of a measuring process a control device causes the distribution of particle sizes initially to be determined with the use of the longest focal length and employment of evaluation mathematics valid for this focal length.

  • Patent number: 5438408
Abstract: For the determination of fine particle size distributions by scattered light measurements, an assembly of suspended particles is illuminated with coherent light, the scattered light pattern is focused on a light sensitive multi-element detector of a registration device and is transformed there to electrical signals. From the digitized electrical signals, the particle size distribution is computed with a computer. For the simplification of the setup and for the improvement of the accuracy of the computable particle size distribution, it is provided that the registration device is a video camera and that the particle size distribution is computed via the solution of a Fredholm integral equation from the signals produced by the light intensities at the pixels of the video camera. The video camera is a CCD camera.
