  • Publication number: 20240110424
Abstract: A device for detecting a trapping event of a motor-actuatable closing system of a vehicle includes sensor and reference sensor electrodes at least partially surrounding the edge of a vehicle opening closable by a closure element. A control unit applies an electrical potential to the sensor electrode for a charging process and a ground potential to the reference sensor electrode for a discharging process. The control unit detects a period of time until a minimum threshold for the electrical potential for the sensor electrode and the reference sensor electrode is reached. A difference between the period of times detected for the sensor and reference sensor electrodes is determined. An imminent trapping event is detected if the difference exceeds a predefined threshold and the period of time detected for the sensor electrode deviates from a predefined standard period of time or a standard period of time detected in a state detected without an imminent trapping event.

  • Patent number: 11926029
Abstract: An apparatus, comprising a control element, which stops in a stopping position during a recurring sequence of movements, a control device, which is intended for controlling stopping of the control element in the stopping position by at least one control parameter, a detection device for detecting an actual stopping position of the control element at the time of a stopping of the control element, the control device being suitable for forming a difference between the actual stopping position and a desired stopping position of the control element and adapting the control parameter for a subsequent sequence of movements of the control element if the difference exceeds a predetermined desired value.

  • Patent number: 6883433
Abstract: A method of operating a sheet-fed printing press having a sheet guide module, removable from the sheet-fed printing press and then inserted back into the sheet-fed printing press again, and a machine control system, includes the steps of monitoring a position of the sheet guide module with respect to its correct operating position with the machine control system, and, based upon results of the position monitoring, the machine control system keeping the sheet-fed printing process in a first operating mode when the sheet guide module is located in the correct operating position, and keeping it in a second operating mode with at least one operating function that is restricted as compared with the first operating mode when the sheet guide module is out of the correct operating position. Also provided is a sheet-fed printing press suitable for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 4077702
Abstract: A splicing element particularly useful for interconnecting the ends of a pair of light waveguides, such as optical fibers, in light transmitting relationship characterized by a single member, which is either molded or formed from a sheet of material, having a pair of thin wall portions with the inner surfaces inclined to each other at an acute angle to form a centering groove having a V-shape and extending longitudinally in the member for receiving and positioning the ends of the light waveguides. In one embodiment, a base of the centering groove terminates inward from each end of the member which ends have outwardly diverging surfaces to enable engaging a covering or sheathing on the waveguide. The base of the groove may have a constant depth or be concavely-shaped with the lowest point being between the ends of the groove and at the point of contact between the ends of the fibers.
