The capping head has a toothed profile, whose teeth essentially point in the direction of center axis. The cavity has an opening. A root diameter of the toothed profile lies on a first imaginary annular surface. A tip diameter of the toothed profile lies on a secondary imaginary annular surface. The first and second annular surfaces are arranged concentric to the center axis. The second annular surface and the center axis enclose a first angle, while the diameter of capping cone increases in the direction of opening. The first annular surface and the second annular surface enclose a second angle that is greater than 0°.

Abstract: A capping machine for closing a receptacle with a cap having a preformed internal thread, the capping machine including a capping head, a drive shaft, a drive, a shifting device, at least one sensor and at least one control device. The at least one sensor senses the position of the cap relative to the receptacle once the cap has been placed on the receptacle. The shifting device includes a comparing unit in which the sensed position and the reference position are compared. A direction of rotation of the drive is defined by the control device via the shifting device in accordance with the comparison.

Abstract: We propose a screw closure for containers, particularly bottles, with a top from which extends a surrounding skirt, said screw closure having a holding device for fixing the screw closure to the container, and with a security band disposed at the edge of the skirt that is facing away from the top, said security band being connected to the screw closure via a predetermined breaking line, and at least one elongation zone being provided in the security band, said elongation zone enabling the security band to extend preferably transverse to its circumferential direction. This screw closure is characterized by the fact that the security band (11) has at least one elastic region (39) that is formed by the lower part of the security band (11) between a holding strip (29) and an elastic holding band (35).

The guarantee area includes at least one holding section on a surface thereof and at least one vertical incision extending over a height of the guarantee area. The apparatus includes a centering device which rotates and securely holds the cap in a fixed position based on the at least one holding section, and a cutting device which cuts the at least one vertical incision into a wall of the guarantee area at a predetermined distance from the at least one holding section while the centering device rotates and securely holds the cap in the fixed position.

Abstract: A slewing device for screw closures for containers includes a screw closure receiving member, a drive for rotating the receiving member, and a control arrangement for controlling power supply to the drive and including a torque sensor for sensing an instantaneous drive torque, a comparator for comparing the instantaneous drive torque with a closing torque having a predetermined value, and a sensor for sensing an angle of rotation of the receiving member and actuatable only upon the instantaneous drive torque reaching the predetermine value. The method of placing a screw closure on a container includes applying a drive torque to the screw closure to screw it down onto the container, sensing an instantaneous drive torque applied to the screw closure, comparing the instantaneous drive torque with a closing torque having a predetermined value, and sensing an angle of rotation of the screw closure only upon the instantaneous drive torque reaching the predetermined value of the closing torque.
