  • Publication number: 20060220005
Abstract: The invention relates to an organic logic gate comprising at least one charging field effect transistor (charging FET) and at least one switching field effect transistor (switching FET), the charging FET having at least one gate electrode, a source electrode and a drain electrode, the gate electrode of the charging FET being potential-free.

  • Patent number: 4166977
Abstract: A star wheel, typically the starter gear of an internal combustion engine is magnetically coupled to a stationary pickup, for example a coil-core or yoke combination, a Hall generator, or the like. Upon rotation of the gear, or star wheel, sequential signals will be induced in the pickup which, related to time, provide an output signal representative of speed. To determine an angular reference position, an additional magnetically responsive reference element is included in the magnetic circuit formed by the stationary pickup and the teeth of the star wheel, to additionally modify the reluctance of the pickup-star wheel magnetic circuit, and change the characteristic of the output signal, for example by a phase jump, a discrete output level jump, or the like. The reference element may be a pin of soft iron, or of the material having soft iron characteristics, a pre-magnetized pin, or the like, exposed to the yoke arms of a pickup surrounding the star wheel, or otherwise magnetically coupled to the pickup.

  • Patent number: 4117401
Abstract: To suppress stray noise pulse in inductive pick-ups located in magnetic relation to a rotating body, typically the flywheel of an internal combustion engine, so that the instantaneous shaft position can be accurately determined, to accurately compute an ignition instant, fixed or stationary pick-up transducer is formed with an E-shaped core having outer legs and a central leg, the pick-up coil being wound on the central leg, and the magnetic element, typically a permanent magnet rotating with the shaft of the engine, having a width to match essentially only the width of the central core and passing in a plane transverse to the plane of the core, so that the outer legs of the core will act as shields against stray noise pulses. The core can be constructed as a circular element of a central core within a tubular magnetic structure, the E-shaped configuration being obtained by slotting the outer tubular structure.

  • Patent number: 4095179
Abstract: The movable body is supplied with at least two marker elements to move therewith, the reference being at a fixed location at which a stationary transducer is located responsive to the marker elements and to provide output signals staggered in time as the marker elements pass by the transducer, so that the marker elements in combination with the transducer form a pulse source. The individual marker elements are different to provide pulses having respectively different characteristics, which pulses are conducted to threshold stages which, in turn, are connected to a logic circuit to evaluate and logically combine the respectively different pulses from the pulse source. Different pairs of marker elements, for example associated with different pistons of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine can be characterized by additional marker elements providing additional pulses which, in combination with one marker element, can characterize a certain number representative, for example, of a cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4024759
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the flow rate of a gaseous or liquid medium includes a baffle member which is poised in the stream on an elastic holder and permitted to execute inherent periodic motions. The flowing medium exerts a damping action on the moving element and the energy lost to the medium is related to the flow rate. The inherent velocity of the baffle is sensed by an inductive velocity sensor and the resulting signal is used to alter the current through a coil which produces an accelerating magnetic field that acts on conductors rigidly attached to the baffle. Thus, the energy required to maintain the inherent motions of the baffle is known and the flow rate may be inferred.
