  • Patent number: 9321078
Abstract: A method for producing a structured surface making contact with printing material, preferably a cylinder cover, includes producing a structured coating having microparticles on a substrate, preferably a stainless steel plate. The microparticles are encased antiadhesively and agglomerated by adsorption of nanoparticles, and the agglomerates being produced are fixed in a sol-gel matrix. A surface produced in this way has a structured coating on a substrate and the coating has microparticles. The coating has agglomerates fixed in a sol-gel matrix and including microparticles encased antiadhesively by adsorption of nanoparticles and preferably formed of silicon carbide. The surfaces advantageously have a self-repair function since, in the case of abrasion of structural elevations, the antiadhesive casings of the microparticles are exposed and the antiadhesive property of the coating is maintained.

  • Patent number: 8714085
Abstract: A surface, especially a galvanically molded transport cylinder sleeve, has a surface structure for contacting printing material, in particular sheets of paper. The surface structure includes first structural elevations spaced apart from each other by a minimum distance A1 and having a height B1 and second structural elevations spaced apart from each other by a minimum distance A2 and having a height B2 with B2<B1. A ratio between the distances A1 and A2 ranges between 10:1 and 1:1. The surface has support areas for supporting the printing material. The printing material is prevented from contacting a planar horizontal surface between the support areas of first, higher structural elevations due to second, lower structural elevations with support areas thereof that are formed between the first, higher structural elevations. A machine for processing printing material and a method for producing areas with a surface structure, are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8462391
Abstract: A method for producing a pseudo-stochastic master surface for producing a cover or jacket of a cylinder for contacting printing material, includes providing the master surface with a pseudo-stochastic distribution of microsurfaces. The master surface is produced on the basis of a digital master in a jacket preliminary stage and serves for a preferably galvanic production of a microstructured cover, in which structure elevations correlate with the microsurfaces. The pseudo-stochastic distribution helps to avoid disruptive discernible effects, for example the moiré effect and helps to construct the microstructuring in a targeted manner. A master surface, a method for producing a cylinder cover, a cylinder cover, a machine for processing printing material, a method for producing printed products and a method for microstamping printed products, are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20120297999
Abstract: A printing method in a printing press includes zonally metering a printing ink at a first viscosity with a metering device and transferring the printing ink at a second viscosity with a printing form cylinder, in which the second viscosity is greater than the first viscosity. An offset printing unit for implementing the method is also provided.
