  • Publication number: 20220379961
Abstract: A steering actuator for a steering system for a motor vehicle may include an actuator rod that can be displaced in translation in a longitudinal direction thereof and a position sensor apparatus that is constructed to detect a linear position of the actuator rod. In order to enable less complex production and a higher level of operational reliability, the position sensor apparatus may include a rotation sensor that has a sensor shaft that can be rotated about an axis and that has a running wheel that can roll on a corresponding linear track of the actuator rod to convert a translational movement of the actuator rod into a rotation of the sensor shaft.

  • Publication number: 20220111885
Abstract: A steering gear for a steer-by-wire steering system of a motor vehicle may include a hollow shaft motor with a stator that is fixed to a housing and a rotatably supported rotor that is arranged coaxially with respect to a longitudinal axis. A worm gear may extend through the rotatably supported rotor. The worm gear comprises a spindle nut that is arranged coaxially relative to the longitudinal axis, that is connected in terms of driving to the rotor, and that is located on a spindle that is displaceable by way of the hollow shaft motor along the longitudinal axis. The angle of inclination of the worm gear may be less than 4.5°.

  • Publication number: 20220048561
Abstract: A steering gear for a steer-by-wire steering system of a motor vehicle may include a coupling rod mounted in a steering gear housing. A threaded spindle may be formed on the coupling rod and surrounded by a spindle nut as part of a spiral gear. The coupling rod may be displaceable along a longitudinal axis by way of the spiral gear. The coupling rod can be mounted in the steering gear housing by way of a plain bearing so as to be displaceable along the longitudinal axis. The plain bearing is configured to compensate for thermal expansions between the steering gear housing and the spindle nut.

  • Publication number: 20210171090
Abstract: A steering gear for a steer-by-wire steering system of a motor vehicle may include an electric motor having a motor shaft. The motor shaft drives a spindle of a worm gear, and the worm gear comprises a spindle nut in such a manner that a rotational movement originating from the motor shaft is converted into a linear movement of the spindle nut along an axis. The spindle nut, for purposes of steering wheels of the motor vehicle, is connected to at least one tie rod. The worm gear may be a ball screw drive, a trapezoidal drive, or a roller screw drive.

  • Patent number: 10913484
Abstract: An electromechanical power steering device may include a servomotor that drives an axially movable component via a ball nut mounted in a bearing such that the ball nut can be rotated about a longitudinal axis in a housing. The ball nut may be engaged with a threaded spindle configured on the axially movable component. The ball nut may include a ball screw on its inner side for balls to roll on, and an external ball return means that connects a start of the ball screw to an end of the ball screw to make endless circulation of the balls possible. A return channel of the ball return means may be formed by way of a deflecting body and a pulley wheel.

  • Patent number: 10641369
Abstract: A power steering system for a motor vehicle may include a servomotor, which drives an axially-movable rack via a ball nut. The ball nut may be mounted in a bearing such that the ball nut can be rotated in a housing. The ball nut engages with a threaded spindle formed on the axially-movable rack and has a ball screw thread on an inside thereof for balls to roll on. An external ball return means may connect a beginning of the ball screw thread to an end of the ball screw thread to allow endless circulation of the balls. A deflector and a sleeve may form a return channel of the ball return means.
