    Abstract: In a method for the selective production of diorganodialkoxysilanes of the general formula ##STR1## by reaction of tetraalkoxysilanes of the formula Si(OR.sup.3).sub.4 and monoorganotrialkoxysilanes of the formula R.sup.1 Si(OR.sup.3).sub.3 respectively with Grignard reagents, the desired reaction products are produced in high yield and without undesirable by-products and in high yield.
