Abstract: For compensating for distortions of ultrasonic transducer signals by measuring thickness of a membrane cap and 3D oil covering the ultrasonic transducer in real time without additional hardware, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, an ultrasonic imaging apparatus may comprises an ultrasonic probe configured to have an ultrasonic transducer with a plurality of elements, a membrane cap provided in a form that covers the ultrasonic transducer, and three dimensional (3D) oil provided between the ultrasonic transducer and the membrane cap; a controller configured to obtain thickness data of at least one of the membrane cap and the 3D oil to compensate for a distortion of a signal transmitted or received by the ultrasonic transducer.

Abstract: Provided is an ultrasound probe including a bonded chemical barrier. The chemical barrier is manufactured between a matching layer and a lens layer by cross-sectionally applying a sputtering layer formed of a nichrome (NiCr) layer and a titanium (Ti) layer onto polyetherimide (PEI) to thereby completely prevent lifting of the lens layer or rising of the matching layer. In addition, as the chemical barrier is attached between the lens layer and the matching layer by using an epoxy adhesive, or a urethane adhesive, the ultrasound probe is fully resistant to long time soaking in an antiseptic, an abstergent, a gel, or the like.

Abstract: According to an ultrasonic probe using a vertically arranged motor, a motor stands upright in the ultrasonic probe and a side pulley is located in a tangential direction of a probe-shaft pulley, thereby enabling a rotating force generated by the vertically arranged motor to be smoothly transferred to an array axis of ultrasonic elements and significantly simplifying a structure of the ultrasonic probe to remarkably reduce manufacturing costs. In addition, according to the ultrasonic probe using the vertically arranged motor, a mechanism which enables a linear operation is implemented while using the vertically arranged motor. Thus, the ultrasonic probe may have an ergonomic design to significantly improve user satisfaction.
