  • Publication number: 20090115696
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of driving a plasma display panel and a plasma display apparatus employing the same. In the plasma display apparatus, a plurality of scan electrodes formed in a plasma display panel are divided into first and second groups and then supplied with scan signals. When a scan bias voltage supplied in a first subfield of first and second subfields is higher than that supplied in a second subfield of the first and second subfields, a lowest voltage of a reset signal supplied in the second subfield is higher than that supplied in the first subfield. In accordance with the plasma display apparatus of the present invention, the lowest voltage of the reset signal is controlled according to the scan bias voltage in dividing the plurality of scan electrodes into two or more groups and driving them.

  • Publication number: 20090115694
Abstract: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus. The plasma display apparatus includes a first layer and a second layer over an upper substrate of a plasma display panel. The first layer emits light having a peak at a first wavelength region with light emitted from a discharge space. The second layer emits light having a peak at a second wavelength region lower than the first wavelength region with light emitted from a discharge space. The first layer and the second layer are disposed over a dielectric layer of the upper substrate. The plurality of scan electrodes are divided into first and second groups and then supplied with scan signals, and scan bias voltages supplied to the first and second groups in at least one period of an address period are different from each other. Accordingly, the occurrence of address erroneous discharge due to the loss of wall charges can be reduced and the discharge efficiency can be enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7471262
Abstract: A method of driving a plasma display panel for generating a stable sustain discharge is disclosed. In the method, first sustaining pulses are applied to the scan electrodes such that a sustain discharge can be generated. Second sustaining pulse are applied to the sustain electrodes in such a manner to be alternated with the first sustaining pulses. A stabilization pulse is applied to an address electrode provided alternately with the scan electrode for each discharge cell such that said sustain discharge can be generated via a surface-discharge area of a voltage close curve.

  • Publication number: 20080231552
Abstract: A plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel (PDP) including a front panel with a plurality of scan electrodes and sustain electrodes formed thereon and a rear panel with a plurality of address electrodes formed thereon and a driving circuit that applies drive signals to the scan, sustain and address electrodes so that driving can be performed by time-division of one frame of an image displayed on the PDP into a plurality of sub-fields. Each sub-field includes reset, address, and sustain periods, and a first signal that gradually falls is applied to the scan electrodes during the address period. In the plasma display apparatus, after a rising signal and a falling signal are applied to the scan electrodes, the first signal is applied before or after the scan signal is applied during the address period, thereby preventing a loss of wall charges and performing stable address discharges and sustain discharges.

  • Patent number: 6631838
Abstract: A method for fabricating a printed circuit board includes the steps of: fabricating a printed circuit board having at least one collapsed portion; depositing a first solder resist in the collapsed portion; exposing the first solder resist-coated printed circuit board at a pressure lower than atmospheric pressure for a predetermined time; coating a second solder resist on the entire surface of the printed circuit board; and drying and hardening the first and the second solder resists. With this method, when a solder resist is coated, since an air space does not remain in a blind via hole, the reliability of the attachment between a printed circuit board and the solder resist layer is increased.
