A sink device includes: an event setting unit that sets a control event configured to control media data supplied from a remote source device with which the sink device communicates through a WLAN; a packet control unit that forms a control packet configured to transmit the control event to the source device; a communication unit that transmits the control packet to the source device and receives, from the source device, media that reflects the control event; and a media output unit that outputs the media data that reflects the control event.
